I ran into someone I haven't seen in a while and even though I had a million more important things I wanted to say to them I end up sputtering out: "So, we're cool, right?"
"So, we're cool, right?" ???? Are you KIDDING me?????? I wanted to kick my own ass right then and there. If only they could have seen the imaginary hand slapping my forehead. I cringed as soon as the words ran out of my mouth. UGGHH. Who knows when I will get another opportunity to talk to them and I come up with…

Wish that I could lie there on a sunny afternoon. A cool breeze slightly teasing as I snuggle into the warmth of that. If there is one, heaven would be much like this, I think.

So, today I tried something new. I took a dance/aerobics class called Zumba. You may have heard of it.... apparently it's all the rage.
Conclusion:
I had NO idea my ass could move in so many different directions! Turns out that Zumba is dancing or moving, if you will, to EXTREMELY fast paced music. The instructor (looking thin and muscular and spry) leads you through these salsa/mambo/hip-hop/I-don't-know-what-else type of moves incorporating hand weights for some of the…

Holy, SH-EE-T!!! Here in Denver, we're getting bent over and impaled from behind by mother nature. I heard on the radio they are calling it a 'dangerous, winter storm' and they are expecting 18 inches within the next day as well as possible power outages due to the wind. I have already shoveled the drive once and am getting ready for another round. It will be my exercise for today since I drove all the way to the gym in this BLIZZARD only to find out it was "Closed, due to the weather".…

Apparently, as a 29 year old, married mother of three, I am supposed to be doing what other "normal" women do. I need to "grow up" and stop acting like a five year old. I am not supposed to be playing dress up or going outside looking like a "hooker". (Evidently, going through the Starbuck's drive-thru wearing a pink ballerina tu-tu with a pair of shorts underneath, a black hoodie and anchor heels qualifies as looking like a hooker.) I should be setting a better example for my children and…

(Hey, Elvis. I REALLY miss you. REALLY. It's just not the same without you. :( Wish I could tell you.....)
Ama and Victoria are spectacular. Things didn't really go as planned and it's ending up to be a L-O-N-G day but they are SUPER, troopers. Three more girlies to go... I'm next!!!!

(That cold finally caught up with me. I'm still smiling, though!)
1. My favorite animal is the giraffe. They are goofy, awkward and graceful all at the same time. They are unique and strange and wild. A bit like how I see myself, I guess.
2. I was a choir geek. I love to sing and I love music. I grew up in a musical family. My mom's dad played bluegrass on the fiddle and banjo and my grandma on my dad's side plays piano and sings. My dad was a choir teacher for 20 some…

(I have to admit I'm embarrassed by my posts over the last few days. I'd like to say that I have a good reason for the increased level of immaturity but I don't really have one. Oh, well... moving on.....)
Since the kiddos have been sickly (sick kids=no admittance into gym daycare) AND the weather has been SO delicious, I started jogging outside more than I have in quite awhile. I usually do three miles at the gym on the treadmill but I did four one day this week and on…

I'm trying to find a balance between
fantasy and reality
melancholy and happiness
truth and intuition
love and friendship
want and necessity
dreams and goals
anxiety and energy
exercise and hyperactivity
heartache and compassion
priorities and privileges
health and habit
interest and obsession
the past and the present
what's good for me and what's good for the rest of the world
can someone PUH-LEASE just hand…

Our destination is not as important as our journey.
Sometimes you have to let go of what you really care about BECAUSE you care so much.
I have things to give. Important things that have meaning. Things that can't be given away to just anyone or tossed out carelessly to be forgotten. I'm having a hard time figuring out what to do with those things.
Lessons present themselves every second you are alive. Sometimes you catch, sometimes you miss…

AHHHHHH, spring. I love spring. The days, becoming longer, have just the right touch of a cool breeze here, to keep the hot from being hot and a warm breeze there, to keep the cold from being cold. The crocus and other flora are shooting up everywhere and birds are perched and singing in the branches of the trees that only weeks ago were heavy with snow. Sprinklers are back in yards, encouraging the small patches of green grass beginning to peek out and around their dull brown predecessors…

I had somewhat of a shitty morning yesterday and although I was lucky enough to be cheered up by one of my favorite people EVER, it put me in a bit of a rebellious mood. I decided I was going to treat myself to a nice relaxing evening. The 'old man' was coming home late so it was just the kids and I and it was a beautiful sunny day just right for a BBQ. I bought myself some orchids, a Betty Boop baseball cap, a bottle of Merlot and a nice rack (of ribs, silly a****!).
After the…

I was at work Friday night, servicing folks with AUTHENTIC southern food and drink at the Cracker Barrel, when one of the other waitresses told me the people at her table would like to speak to me. It was an older couple, in their 60's maybe. The woman smiled at me and said "Your hair is very interesting!"
Tonight, I was wearing it in two victory rolls, side bangs; the rest down in curls, with a big black flower perched on the left side of it all. I smiled back and started to explain…

I am INSANELY excited for Ama and Victoria to get here in March! This is big for me. I am trying not to behave like a psychotic fan. You know, the kind that babbles incoherently and bubbles over with anticipation in the presence of greatness? Oh, WAIT..... I think I'm there already. Crap.
Anywho, thank you Betty Red for introducing me and helping make this a reality AND thank you for the generous donations from my dear ones. You are all AMAZING.

Sipping hot tea
reminds me of
early morning chats
laughter
sharing common
knowing looks
these times were sacred
something real
Flocks of geese
a brisk breeze blowing over a frigid lake.
Freezing fingers close to frostbite
gripping a hot chocolate
Shaking
maybe from the cold or
maybe from excitement
doesn't matter
A touch here and there
affection
feels more than lust
a stroke of the collar…

This blog is such a relief! I can babble as much as I need to and the people who want to hear what I have to say can and those who don't aren't forced to. Fabulous.
So here I go babbling again. And I am SOOOOO good at it.
Today I am babbling about my life. Recently I've gone through a lot....some MAJOR things have been happening.... AND in a short period of time. First, I decided "HEY! I'm going to take a chance at becoming a pinup model." That was a big one. Also, I…
