I had somewhat of a shitty morning yesterday and although I was lucky enough to be cheered up by one of my favorite people EVER, it put me in a bit of a rebellious mood. I decided I was going to treat myself to a nice relaxing evening. The 'old man' was coming home late so it was just the kids and I and it was a beautiful sunny day just right for a BBQ. I bought myself some orchids, a Betty Boop baseball cap, a bottle of Merlot and a nice rack (of ribs, silly a****!).

After the LONGER than LIFE shopping trip with my little ones, I hauled the plethora of grocery bags into the house, started up the grill and poured myself a glass of wine. I intended to get a good buzz going but almost half way through the second glass, I realized I was pretty much sauced. WHEEEEEEEE! (I failed to consider the fact that I hadn't had a drink since New Year's Eve and EVIDENTLY, within three months, I had become a serious LIGHT WEIGHT.) Half of the groceries STILL hadn't been put away, my kids wanted in the hot tub, ribs were cooking, the baby was hungry and I was BARELY walking upright!

AnyWHO, I did my usual round of "drink-and-dial" calls... (just ask Betty Red-skanker), laughed a lot and at one point, fell FLAT on my ass while trying to get the lid of the hot tub for the kids. I DID, however, manage to keep everyone alive (including myself), feed the baby, get all but a loaf of bread put away (which the dogs devoured) AND produce THE most De-LICIOUS ribs I (and PROBABLY you) have ever eaten!!! I really couldn't have asked for a more pleasant evening. All I was missing was MY MAN but I guess you can't always have your cake and eat it too. Someday.....

(Oh, and I didn't end up with THAT bad of a hangover today, which was REALLY surprising.)
