Sometimes I honestly contemplate as to whether or not it's worth doing anything artistic or creative. I have loved these things for so many years but hardly did anything aside from creating for my own purpose and satisfaction. Obviously compliments were always appreciated, as I am quite humble and still get surprised when someone writes me and says they dig what I do.
The doubt that gets cast stems from watching other people gain momentum and popularity. Not saying that I'm jealous…

Cecilia Delgado stood in the roadside gravel of bypass Highway 85, and waited for the next set of headlights to arrive. Underneath a borderline streetlamp she could see every part of her life. The exit to Gila Bend was just to her right, where the dark frontage road curved toward the highway. On her left, a two mile string of plastic fast food icons and gas station lights led to the entrance. The display outside the Gila Bend Credit Union turned to 11:08. (II:CE with the bulbs that still…

This blog is such a relief! I can babble as much as I need to and the people who want to hear what I have to say can and those who don't aren't forced to. Fabulous.
So here I go babbling again. And I am SOOOOO good at it.
Today I am babbling about my life. Recently I've gone through a lot....some MAJOR things have been happening.... AND in a short period of time. First, I decided "HEY! I'm going to take a chance at becoming a pinup model." That was a big one. Also, I…

Wow. I have not been blonde since I was 18!
My stylist bleached me out yesterday and now I'm part of the blonde Betties club! It was so weird at first. My kids were in shock. My own dog barked at me, out ouf sheer inablility to recognize her owner. BUT...I feel great.
It feels like I've shed an old layer of skin and have a fresh new coat on! It has also reminded me that being blonde requires a daily makeup routine, in order to create balance and keep from looking like I have a wig…

Poor old Tony Nylons (can be found as The Casting Couch here) is having a bad week. Not only has someone been heavily inspired by his work to make burlesque wallpaper, but The Saturday's 'Just Can't Get Enough' Red Nose Day video is filled with iconic Tony Nylons style pin up images. As Tony says, he, in turn is inspired by classic pin up artists of the 1940s and 1940s and there are only so many ways you can film a girl in a corset looking cute with an iron. Does this mean that sales of his…

Hey all, I am going to atempt a rockabilly/pinup self portrait on tuesday. I am so NERVOUS. Why you ask. Well for one I have no self confidence. I am petrified that I will not do the era any justice. So wish me luck. Thanks all.

Finished the "Official Selection" graphic for Hot Rod Girls Save The World. The film is doing really well. It's only been out a few weeks and already it's got into several festivals, sales are brisk on DVD and more distributors are picking it up each week.

Hello To all the PL Kats and Kittens
I am going to be having my first official photoshoot with a great Arizona photographer on Sunday! I am brainstorming for my wardrobe changes. We will be doing the shoot at my home because I have a full tiki room and great backyard. These are the ideas I was thinking about...
-Tike shoot; either a grass skirt and hawaiian bra top or a vintage playsuit?
....Hair up or down?
-50s housewife hanging the laundry on the line. Thinking 50s…

When I die the things I will miss most are
My wife's kisses.
My son's jokes and antics.
My daughter's songs and stories.
The feeling of bass strings on my fingers and the sounds they make.
Driving late at night with the radio on.
Discovering new things- especially where they shouldn't be.
Trees on the beach.
Dreaming about the perfect 1967 Dodge Charger.
An entertained audience...that I made that way.
The time right before sunset.

Thank you for inspiring me when you could have broken me down. Thank you for giving me a chance when you could have looked the other way. Thank you for believing in me when you could have been uninterested. Thank you for thinking I'm something special when you could have only cared about yourself. Thank you for seeing my point of view when you could have been stubborn. Thank you for wondering how I am and WHO I am when you could have been selfish. Thank you for accepting me when you could have…

He stood carved of clay in the porcelain and chrome room. His first true shower in a month. Not splashed from a creek, rinsed by a hose, or wiped by handi-wipes. The metal tongue crackled the showerhead to life. Flesh was stained with a blend of dirt, oil, sawdust, and rusted metal cake of the past thousand miles. Blood was oil seeping. His knuckles and fingertips were whorls of knotted wood. Fine hairs sprouted from the fleshy top of his thumb and the callused outer edge of his hand. Only the…

I thought I'd blog a little about my shoot ideas that haven't made it to the studio yet! I am hoping to have a new shoot done this weekend, with my new studio portrait lights! It involves a bathtub, so pray that I don't get electrocuted!
I have always dreamed of recreating my favourite Gil Elvgren painting, but need to find that perfect alligator!
Another great redheaded painting from the master that I'd love to recreate is…
