The Joy of Thrift

I love thrift stores. I love pawing through other people's discards, and finding something that is just my style for only a couple of dollars. I usually stick to the "knick-knacks" area, because while the clothing can offer up some treasures, it's usually packed tight and I get bored with flicking through hanger after hanger of holiday sweaters.

Obsessed with this back piece



Ever since I saw this photo on Texas Tara's MySpace (boo, hiss) page, I have been obsessed. Okay, maybe not obsessed... after all, I'm not planning a trip to Austin so I can get one just like it. Swimsuit dilemma!

I have a case of the wants for this adorable swimsuit that I spotted on glamoursurf.com:

At $179, it's not the most outrageously priced vintage swimsuit I've seen, but I can't justify buying it unless I sell off my vintage Surf Togs swimsuit, which I've never even worn! Well, that was flattering!

Last night was a gal pal's bachelorette party, and rather than do the whole (yawn) penis cake and whatnot, it was decided that we would instead go out for a nice dinner followed by drinks and oh yeah, let's not forget a burlesque show. So, gussied up we got, and hit the town.

"Love Spell" dress has put a spell on me, for sure!

I love everything about this dress. I love that it's eye-catching. I love that it's a flattering cut. I love that it's red, and I could get red satin shoes to match, but the black tulle means that I can also wear black shoes and carry a black handbag without freaking out about the red not being JUST right.
