Ever since I saw this photo on Texas Tara's MySpace (boo, hiss) page, I have been obsessed. Okay, maybe not obsessed... after all, I'm not planning a trip to Austin so I can get one just like it. But, this is the first full-back piece I've seen that has made me consider actually getting one of my own, instead of the hip piece I've been planning.
- I love that it's a peacock, which is sort of what all pinpup models and burlesque dancers are,
- and it is also such a classic art nouveau theme, which I love, although...
- it's skillfully drawn in a traditional, old-school tattoo style.

As for what else makes my heart go pitter-pat? I really don't know. I am without a doubt drawn to this piece, and I'll be thinking about it for quite a while.

Oooooooh. I think what makes or breaks this style of tattoo is how skilled a colourist the artist is. It has potential to be absolutely beautiful is shaded correctly. Did you see the episode of L.A. Ink where a burlesque dancer came in and got a similar old-school style with peacock elements on her arm? Loverly!

I want a full back so badly, but I am covered in moles. They're small, but the canvas is largely unusable ::sob:: All I really have is sides, but for how much longer, I don't know. The little effers multiply >:'(
