This was a hard list to compile, maybe even more so than the Top 25 Best Burlesque Web Sites list. Where the latter would’ve been a Top 10 list if it hadn’t been for the ridiculous amount of amazing sites, this one almost became a Top 5 list because of the lack of burlesque blogs. Where are the bloggers for this wonderful artform? It boggles the mind that more people interested in entertainment in general, but especially dance aficionados, aren’t clamoring to preserve this genre. With that in…

Thanks to the Burlesque Hall of Fame Web site, http://www.burlesquehall.com, I was able to compile a top 25 list of what I think are the best burlesque Web sites around. Originally, this piece was supposed to be a Top 10 list; however, once I got into researching them all, there were so many great ones that I couldn’t just narrow it down to 10. While all of the Web pages are special and well thought out, I was looking for sites that popped – sites that had designs or content like no other or…

The ’30s, ’40s, ’50s and ’60s were exceptional times for striptease artists. Hundreds of theaters and clubs across the country catered to burlesque and even Hollywood came calling. Hundreds of extraordinarily beautiful women made careers teasing eager audiences with carefully planned and, by today’s standards, modest displays of flesh. What makes a classic burlesque queen? Here at Simply Burlesque the criteria is simple:
* beauty: the performer had to be easy on the eyes with a…

I always have loved pin up models. Rosie the riviter was a great icon when I was younger. My mother got offered a position as a national model for a salon and she turned it down. I still wish she had taken it. I tried to be a mode a few years ago. I got told I was too large old short AKA You have a great personality wisdom and integrity. I laugh at it.
I occasionally get people that speak before they think. I get really old men that think I am hot the way I am. The occasional ego…

I keep logging in and thinking "I should up date this, these people are gonna think I fell off the face of the earth".. Then I look at the pile of as-yet-to-be photographed inventory in my closet, roll my eyes, bang my head into the wall and log off.
If the six week wait to get my internet connection property handled is any indication, like my housemate keeps saying "it's gonna be a long summer"..... It's done though, so I've really got no excuse not to log in and update this little…

Who –
Kate Donovan - Pinup model and Photographer

Female models with love for the classic pinup style. Photoshoots and videos feature retro clothing and lingerie with the aim to tease. Gleaning from the favorite pinups and actresses from the 20’s to 50’s Kate shoots ‘Retrorotica’ at its finest! Kate is seeking to build her portfolio and yours! Tease is the key word here, so doing topless and or nude is not required. If topless and or nude shots are done they…

Yessir! I finally made it and am now an official Master of Arts diploma holder. And a double one, too! One diploma is a Master in art critique - that's the Master of Pin-ups one ;). The second one is sculpting. Look on MySpace for Mystery Benelli and you will be able to see the pictures. I didn't want to post them here cause they are not pin-up stuff... and I suppose it wouldn't be okay to post something unrelated.
My work on the diplomas was sometimes fun and sometimes and awful…

Along with the ink drawing for HellInAHandbag, I also did a set of pinup sketches. HIAH had said she loved the Poppy Fields sketches and that was what I was
intending to send to her. Then I sat down to draw and the other lot came out instead.
But once I got that out of my system, the sketches just flowed!
I pictured the character of Helena Handbag as a saucy badass; the kind of woman who would have been right at home in Russ Meyers' "…

June is always such a crazy busy month - not that July is not shaping up to be the same, but at least I turned 30 with relative ease.
Next month brings fun events, more 100* weather from Austin, and even hotter gals to work with!
Now for where I left my camera...

My son and I both have the chicken pox. This is his first time (even though he got the vac), and my 3rd. Both cases are mild, thank goodness, but it's hot, and we still itch.
I am kind of glad we have it at the same time though. Not that I want them, but at least we are going through it together.
Here is my poor baby and his chicken pox,…

I'll have a new set of Garter Flasks out and available by the end of next week. I found some lovely and delicate vintage lace pieces that will soften the 'tough' idea of the flasks... hope everyone likes them...
Meanwhile, I'm trying to find a good e-commerce site...the webpage I would like will have to wait for now ($$$!) If anyone has any ideas, please let me know :)
