Some people have the willpower to work out at home and others don't. If you want to get moving and don't like the gym, don't have time for the gym, or can't afford a gym, working out at home can be a great option!

Here is the best website to go to to find almost any at home workout DVD possible.

www.collagevideo.com

They have a really great website that is easy to navigate and you also get to watch about a minute of each video. This is very helpful. Sometimes you can't stand a video just because of the instructor's voice, or music or style. It also breaks down for you what "60 minutes" or whatever means for the video you are looking at . (Example, 10 mins warm up, 20 minutes cardio, 10 minutes standing abs, etc) This really helps you to choose the best video for you.

One great video i bought that I would buy over and over again is called Squeeze by Tracy Effinger. it is a great Pilates inspired workout to tone your entire body. What is great about it is that it isn't a very intense cardiovascular workout but definitely does the job!

Don't be embarrassed either! the videos are all made by qualified personal trainers or fitness professionals and you get to work out in your own home. This is how I started, i was too intimidated by the gym. I still use several of my DVDs if I am crunched for time or just don't feel like going to the gym! (and I work there!)

True, all direct tv offers exercise on Demand, free, but often a lot of time wasted (figuring out which one to do, if you like it or not, how hard it is, commercials in the beginning etc) It takes me about 3 of those workouts to break a sweat. the annoying thing is you don't know until you are into the workout if it will be too hard or too easy. That being said, it is a great resource for you if you want to find something new, are bored etc. i wouldn't really rely on it for your actual workouts unless you know specifically what you want already.
The reason i like the collage website is that you can preview the videos, see exactly how they are broken down (what the 45 minute DVD actually entails for instance) and they are very accurate as to the difficulty level.
Another fantastic website is beachbody.com, but talk to me first if you are interested in anything on there, i have done everything and i will help you pick the one you will like.

A while back I desperately had to get in shape. I was a "super" (extra) at an Opera company and I was going to be on stage for almost the entire opera in nothing more than an Egyptian kilt.
Someone told me about collage and I found some workouts that weren't too "girly". I ended up on a fitness forum for one the dvd lines and ended up meeting my wife. See exercise is good for you :-)

Of course, I hate telling people how we met since I'm a little less "in shape" than in those days.
For men, the Gilad isn't bad and there are some Navy Seal workouts too.

My wife's into the Cathe workouts now. She loves them and actually has fun with some of the step ones.
