I'm always broke. I have never had a bunch of money. With that came the knowledge on how to make things last. How to strech what I did have. I use my nana, granny, & great-aunts jewlry/clothes which is good because it's true vintage. I go to the thrift stores, yard sales, antique shops. Friday the 13th

I got off school today which was awsome. I slept in till 7am! I am usually up at 4am and swiming in a pot of coffee. I also mowed the lawn, did laundry, dishes, cleaned. re-do

Today was a much better day! I re-took my test & passed! I also fixed my hair. It's actually "marinating" now. I cooked dinner. Now I am doing dishes & laundry while I wait on my hair to finish. I also studied some of the new chapter & that about sums it up. I gotta get ready for tomorrow. I am watching Roseanne. Only tomorrow & Thursday of this week, then Friday off. I need the break. Well laundry is done.

Monday Monday

It was a typical Monday. I had to go to school. I had a test, then hair cut, mani, pedi on a real life model. My mom drove three hours to be my model. I gave her a shampoo, cut, style. We went to lunch at one of my favorite 50's diners called Boom-a-rang. Then I gave her a manicure & pedicure. She then went three hours back to her house. Such a great gal. August 2010

So, I have offically been in Northern California a year. I absolutely love living up here. Finally made it to my first Midnight Mass and I was ticked plaid by all that was happening around me! So many beautiful ladies and things to do and see, I was surprised when the night was finally over and I saw the parade cruising out for sites unknown. Why Does Vintage Suits by Mary cost more than a suit from Walmart?

I've noticed lately that because of the prevalence of stores like Walmart and Forever 21 that some people don't understand why a playsuit would cost nearly one hundred dollars.



Back in the 1940s and 50s, swimsuits and playsuits were made differently. They were fully lined. They had boning. They had cups. They had zippers and buttons. AND, they fit! They also lasted longer than 6 months. My suits are made the same way, with the same inner foundation.

Trying to rebuild

It's Saturday. The weather is nice, for once. Sunny but not too hot. Nice breeze. My boyfriend & I dressed in our 50's finest. We went into town for a bit, got strange looks. We both enjoy it. just another friday

I got thru the day, it seemed kinda long. When I got home, as always I cleaned. When my boyfriend got home, we went & did what we do every Friday. Ate, rented movies, bought hot rod mags. Now we are at home. Relaxing. I'm trying to find a job. Money is the main reason. It seems it makes the world go round or stop sometimes. I have plans for the $ of course. At the Drive In

When I was little, as I have said before, I had a family who were & still are awesome. I'm lucky for that. My parents would pack snacks, drinks, blankets, chairs, pillows, & bug spray into the car on Friday night. Then we would all go to the Drive-In. It was a "dive" but I love things like that.
