I have been chatting with friends on another site and it came to my attention that there are a TON of fashion trends that I seriously DISLIKE! Heck, border on LOATHE even. LOL

So now I bring the discussion to my PL peeps! What is the one fashion fad that you simply CAN NOT STAND?! It can be from any era, decade, country... whatever and wherever!

Post up those pics people! But please remember! KEEP IT NICE IN HERE! We don't want people arguing about what they think is best.

Fashion is all a matter of opinion anyway!

XOXO

This may be a resurgence of the plaid grunge style. Ugh... no please. Plaid- yes. Plaid un-tucked, wrinkled and mismatched- NO.

Looking like you pooped your pants IS NOT PRETTY.

Regretfully I have to agree. It's the worst fashion trend out there and it makes me ridiculously angry.

Agreed. It's awful and I would consider it a trend/fashion, personally.

Not so much of a style but...

some of these are extra special lol..

I'm over neon clothing. Hot pink is about as far as I can go. neon green and orange anything is just a bit much for me.

There has also been a trend over the last few years with those saggy beanies, I don't have a problem with them when it's cold out but I see people wearing them when its 95 degrees. It looks so ridiculous.

This was huge last year and Spring 2011. I thought it was quite ridiculous. Chunky jeweled bedazzled finger nails.

And I agree with someone else that mentioned it was the way the dress on Jersey Shore!!! Especially the girls with their neon colors, huge ugly slippers they wear in public, the sunglasses, and the teeny cotton shorts.

As far as the plaid shirts go I LOVE plaid shirts and could wear them everyday in the fall and winter. I wish I had a whole closet full. I see quite a handful of rockabilly chicks wear them and it looks cute. I think the trend that was posted is more of that grungy look, but I myself like the cozy, country/rockabilly look.

Oh goodness I have a mile long list of "fashion" pet peeves:

1. Crocs- I hate them, they are the laziest shoe on the face of this earth...yes lazier than flip flops. I wish they had never ever been invented! I especially hate that people put them on small children. First of all little kids need to be learning how to tie their shoes and second, unless they have socks on with them (ew) their feet get really dirty and nasty *shudder*

2. Sagging Pants/Skinny Jeans on men- I don't want to see your a**/boxers nor do I want to see an imprint of your junk. Its even worse when you see those "hipsters" in skinnies and they have ken doll crotch, which begs the question "Are they tucked? What do they do with it?". I've even seen some guys in sagging skinny jeans with boxers! How do they get boxers under those tight a** pants? (me and friend have decided they're wearing "thoxers" thong boxers, there's no other explanation)

3. Uggs/Snowboots year round- Im sorry, I hate them anyway but I really hate seeing them in the spring/summer

4. Big chunky sneakers and booty shorts- Common among high school girls, looks really stupid, its usually accompanied by an absurdly tight shirt

5. Skinny jeans on the wrong body types- Curvy women can certainly rock skinny jeans but they are not for everyone. Fashion is all about finding what compliments your body type not someone elses. I have seen so many women looking like ice cream cones (round upper body sitting on a pointy end cone)

6. Long hair with no purpose- I worked with a girl that kept her hair like butt length, it was gorgeous and really healthy but all she ever did was put it in a high pony. No bangs, no curls, nothing it was just there. And it really irks me when women with long hair won't leave it alone! I can remember sitting in class and every five seconds having blonde hair whipping back forth across my desk and my papers. Pony up, pony down, pony up, pony down...after like the 6th time of her putting her hair up and taking it down I caught it with my hand and told her to stop! lol. Whats the point in keeping your hair that long and not styling it and then complain about how long it is and its such a pain to deal with? (other than those that do it for religious purposes of course)

7. Tight dress, no shape wear- Almost everyone needs a little support ,especially if you have this thing called a uterus...you're bound to have a little roundness in the tummy which as a belly dancer I think its beautiful. however if youre going to wear a dress so tight with a material so thin and clingy that if you have a mosquito bite on your butt everyone will see it; put on some shapewear!

8. Prom/Stripper shoes with weird outfits- I live in a small town in Ky so this just might be a small town thing but I have seen so many women wearing strappy stripper heels and/or prom shoes with random flare jeans and a regular shirt at walmart at like 11am on Tuesday morning...where the hell are they going in that outfit?

9. Wearing heels you can't walk/stand in- I hate seeing women walking all stooped forward because they can't walk in the shoes they decided to wear. And I also hate seeing women standing around in super skinny heels with wobbly legs and the heels rolled out to the sides in that weird "faux-pigeon toe stance"

Pajamas in public- Kids and adults alike need to be fully dressed when they leave the house. Unless your taking your kid to the doctor or the hospital, put some clothes on them and do their hair.

Ok thats all, Im getting off my fashion soapbox now lol

Oh my gosh! I forgot about crocs, I completely blocked that from my mind! And pj's in public really irk me!!

Maybe I missed it, but I can't believe anyone hasn't metioned Skinny jeans... is it just me or do they look ridiculous, especially when they are sagging. I mean come on, you have skin tight pants on and that isn't enough, but you also have to have them hanging off your ass while they cling to the rest of your body? Yeah that's hot... NOT.

Second would have to be the cowboy boots with shorts or skirts (UGG boots too, any boot really) I just don't understand the socks in this one either lol Just call me old and out of touch. I just rather have a nice pair of sandals or flip flops over sweaty feet covered in boots in 110 temp in the summer.

And last but not least. The head band. It just looks like you half assed your hair and didn't want to take time to do anything with it so you just put a head band over your forehead. I just don't get it. Unless you are going as a flapper girl for Halloween, then I would advise wearing it atop your head lol but that's just me.

What about the whole "vajazzling" garbage?

Good Lord....

Gack! I think I'm going to puke. :( Someone give those girls a sandwich...or two. I'm a little dude 5' 4" and a $1.17, but even I like a gal with curves.

I agree.  Being practically starved to death is not sexy and I wish more designers would realize this!

Yeah, that's sick...I used to be stick thin myself (naturally) but I did'nt like it. I'm glad I have some curves now even if it makes buying jeans difficult! The fashion industry is overdue for a change.

Holy carp! I didn't realize that starved female was a fashion trend! LMAO  Thanks goodness not all designers use models that look like that. Just scary and unhealthy.

Maybe I don't get it... but this is a trend that just doesn't make sense to me. Hipster... ok. I get it. The moustacheo? I guess I'm too far out of the hipster loop to understand.

The next one just makes me laugh. :)
