"We Are The New Vintage"
Hi Ladies! I'm new here and I want to ask a question I had in my mind since I discovered pin up. I looked some discussions and I didn't find something explaining this, and If this isn't in the right place I'm sorry :(
My question is: Can a black girl be a pin up? A lot of people told me this cannot be possible because every pin up girl has white skin, and the make up they wear is special for that skin.
(And sorry for my bad english)
*ADMIN NOTE: Ladies cool it and keep it civil, educate don't hate. We didn't build this worldwide colorless community for anyone to think they CAN'T be a pinup. It exists to show that ANYONE can and that the style is represented worldwide without boundaries.

I sent out the email about this thread 2 hours ago and in that time it has gone from 13 replies to 56! It warms my heart to belong to a community that is so kind, concerned, open minded and diverse.
You ladies and gentlemen make me proud and happy to be here on PL, and make every minute of work worth it! Thank you.
Yes a Black Girl can be a Retro Pinup who ever told you no is wrong! There is many pretty Black Girls and Ladies who are very stunning Pinups! Most Retro Pinup was the Girl Next Door Look and if Curvy even better.
Retro Pinup is mostly Attitude check out some old retro Magazines on google such as Flirt check out the way they pose and go from there. Don't let some one try to intimidate you or tell you falsely other wise. ~Bill
You are beautiful! Of course you can be a pin up! That's the whole point of modern/retro pin up...I love that the models are all shapes sizes and colors! That is why I pursue this type of photography over other forms of pin up.
I haven't read this whole thread but felt the heat over here in the mountains of Bolivia. Ladies cool it and keep it civil, educate don't hate. We didn't build this worldwide colorless community for anyone to think they CAN'T be a pinup. It exists to show that ANYONE can and that the style is represented worldwide without boundaries. Be a lady or this gentleman will kindly you the door.
MADAMS: If things remain heated madams please prune asshat an racially charged replies.
Ladies and gentlemen, we have a rule here on PL about being nasty, mean, catty, rude and racist. The rule is DON'T DO IT. We have this rule to keep our members safe and happy. PL is a community, and we are proud that this is a place where girls (and guys) can feel secure about what they post. This includes forum posts, pictures, comments, blogs, videos, etc. Anyone not following this rules will be warned, and if it happens again, banned from the site.
This thread has made a lot of people feel good about themselves and has helped educate those who might not know a lot about the ethnic pin up scene. We would like to keep it open so that it can continue to to spread positivity, however, if it gets nasty it will have to be closed.
Please remember before you post to read the whole thread, look at the facts, and keep in mind that there are people out there, and more to come in future generations who might need the information in this thread. The internet is all about educating people on things they don't know about, I'm thrilled that PL get's to be a part of it.
Thank you.

i think the term "darker person" was the wrong term....we're not all that dark...you know what?! i think that non black people should stop thinking so hard on how to be politically correct...if you're white you're white and if you're black you're black...i love being a brown girl. being black was something i stopped fighting about a long time ago, i think that black girls rock and being called "darker" no matter the race, is a tad ignorant, point blank...we're not stranger races anymore. we're neighbors and work assistants; we're best friends and in-laws. let's act like it!
This is a beautiful statement!
The only thing that shocks me is that we're still discussing the negative racial focus that this thread has taken. This is the last and final warning. Get back on topic or the thread will be closed. It would break my heart to do so, because the majority of this thread has been so uplifting and positive.
Thanks,
H.B.H {Madam}
Can a black girl be a pin up model yes? But you have to under stand that back in the let 40s mid 60s you just did not see any black models black models did not exist was a lot of racism so you did not see them any where if you was a move start then you can see some of them.
