OK so here's the deal. Us girls have this decision looming on our minds the moment we begin dabbling in the modeling world, "To nude or not to nude". Some girls say screw it and shred their shirts before the lights are warmed up and some giggle shyly and say it's not for them. Personally, I've been doing just implied as my personal choice but LOVE a lot of the artistic nudes I've seen out there. So here's my question, would you ladies who do not shoot nudes, reconsider if the photographer is a complete bad ass?

*I'm struggling with this right now but, think I may have made up my mind already.

I think it depends on the content, the photographer, what the photo's intended for, and yourself. If you're comfortable with all of that, I don't see why you shouldn't. I just read an interview with Sabina Kelley where she said that she didn't do full nudity with the exception of Playboy and her shoot with David LaChappelle. It's one of the reasons she's one of my favorites. You can choose what you want to do and don't have to be pigeonholed into doing nudes often. I think Sabina's got it right and being selective adds to her appeal.
I will not comment until Desirée is not sitting right next to me. I will need to be at least 6ft away before answering yes.
I agree with Miss Melia~
Though, I feel implied is much sexier at times... you know leaving much to the imagination
can make add more appeal to everyone involved making the work-

Shoot! Fully clothed Pinups make waves almost as much as Nude ones (in my humble oppinion)
I think its both.

heres some photos I've recently shot: Model Brookelyn Torres~

Clothed but very Sexy-

Heres another: Nude/ Implied/Covered

I have also struggled with this. My drama is that I have no problem with nudes or implied nudes, except that the last thing I want is to have some photographer out there who has crappy nudes of me.

If all of my implied were actually "implied" that would be great, except inevitably at some point, something would slip, and the photog would have some compromising or unflattering image of me.

I like artistic, non-sexually explicit nudes, but again, one weird take, and it appears to be porn.

Ultimately, I would be totally into this if it didn't have blackmail potential written all over it.

....I like to think that my paranoia adds to my charm.... ;)
well. right now I'm in the implied nude or toppless art photography...but it has to be very tasteful and a great photographer...and my hubby has to agree and support (he's a good guide for that) anyhow, would I change my mind? good question...I guess honestly? maybe. I'd be flattered if I got the chance to do a really awesome shoot...so, there it is, it depends on the theme of the shoot and the taste. My advice for you? is do what your comfortable with. Good Luck
I think everyone makes a great point! Can't wait to see what else you all are thinking. My decision has been made but I won't say what just yet!
Everyone has pretty much said what I wanted to say!

I say yes, but save it for other styles besides pinup. I guess I am just old school but I think once everyone starts getting naked in pinup, everything sacred will be lost.

I want to do some nude shots someday, just because I am wayyyy curious as to how I would look totally naked in pictures. That venture will have nothing to do with my pinup modeling though, and will likely be kept private. I will not associate it with my pinup modeling and won't be announcing it to people on PL (or any other social networking source related to the lifestyle)

There is definitely a place for it, but I feel it is best for other genres then this one.
That's pretty much how I've felt about it, Christi. I've concluded for me, nude photography would be for limited viewing and won't be shared online. (I say that now, who knows what I will think in a few years!)

Thanks for the feedback everyone!!
I find the photogs in this area (at least on Model Mayhem) only want nudes! There was this one who said I was not "edgy" cause I would not pose nude, since most girls pose nude now, wouldn't actually being fully clothed be considered edgy because it's not the norm?
Pinup is supposed to be about the tease and when I see nude models on any pinup site, I always think to myself, "that's not pinup!" What is the difference between a nude pinup and a nude stripper, pin curls?
I guess I feel my nekked body is for me to see or my hubby to see, not some creepy photog and dudes on pinup sites who say they care about the artistic nature of the photography, give me a break! Guys don't care about art, sorry! Plus you never know what can come back to haunt you later on down the road!
I have found a 1000 different creative ways to shoot myself, none of which are boring and all which do not compromise my level of comfort. Girls, don't ever let someone persuade you otherwise, you can achieve whatever you want with modeling, and STILL keep your top (and bottoms) on!
"To nude" for me - although I haven't done nudes in a few years. Clothed images can be utterly tasteless and nudes can be downright dignified, depending on the intent of the model and the photographer.

Doing a nude set, doesn't mean every set afterward will automatically include nudity. There are shots where you have that wild nose hair that it would be a more powerful shot with or without the wardrobe and sometimes you go for it - even if you didn't plan to, or sometimes you don't when you had considered it because the vibe at the moment just wasn't right.

The best advantage I've found from having gone nude, is that I'm not overly concerned about incidental uh ohs that can occur during shooting. Whether I'm chasing the boy shorts that are heading north on me, or tucking bewbs back where they should be (down girl... sit. stay...) it's made me more laid back and better able to laugh at those moments when trouble shooting a pose that you find yourself grabbing your thigh by the jiggle and putting it to a more flattering position. ;-)

As far as MM, it's not just your area, it's every area I think. I am, and have been, so DONE with Model Mayhem. I am gonna cancel my account soon. I have not had any leads from that site in over a year.

As far as everything else you said.....right on!
Yes.. "If you have got it, flaunt it"..

But then again... No..

Some of the most erotic pin up's i have ever seen have been fully clothed!.
