Did we miss our favorite childhood candy or Ice Cream treats?

I can't pass up this topic because well I have a soft spot for goodies. I loved the vanilla fudgesicles witch they do not make anymore! And as far as candy anything sour. I also like root beer barrels that are pretty hard to find unless you go to a candy shop where I live.

When I was kid and I was spending the night at my grandparent's house in the summertime, they would sometimes take me to a locally-owned old-fashioned ice cream shop and I would always get bubble gum ice cream. That shop is still around, but I haven't been to it in years...until last night. After dinner, my bf decided to take me out for ice cream and I suggested this place. And of course, I got bubble gum ice cream. The only difference is now it's blue and back then it was pink. But other than that, it took me right back to some of the happiest times of my childhood!
Sour candy all the way, CryBaby extremes omgg... I would stuff like 3 in my mouth. I still remember chillin at the pool, when the ice cream man rolls up I'd go running.
Jello Pudding pops. I used to love those things! I saw some not too long ago at Luckys, didn't buy them, and haven't seen them since. So sad!

Richie, you owned a diner... is there anything you haven't done?
Beware the yellow snow!!!

my mom would send me out in the first snow, scoop up a mess of it to make home-made ice cream. we would take turns crankin the old maker till our arms felt like they were going to fall off. but man, was it worth the wait. moms' cookies, home made candies (like buckeyes) and peanut brittle. those were the days!
I always loved candy, but what I remember most was CandyLand, the game. I love how it all looks like candy. My litty chubby child self loves that. yum
yes yes yes! Jello pudding pops. What is going on with that! They do not make them anymore and that is sad. An awesome authentic malt shop in Phoenix AZ makes the best treats still to this day. Mac alpines. It is a retro clothes and antique shop with the best burgers and shakes around. been est since 1928. A must try.
There were these 'Strawberry' flavored sundae bars on a Popsicle stick, that you could get at school, they had the totally artificial flavored strawberry and were covered in a white and pink crumb layer. To this day, I only find them once in a blue moon. I'm mostly veggie and I hate ice cream, but when I find these, I'm 6 again. I have to have one!
My brother was the bubble gum master. Thryfties , spelled so wrong but taste so good. Every Friday with the folks. Wow the baby is so kicking just thinking about ice cream.
There is a restaurant in Memphis, that i frequented a lot, Zinnie's East. Its been around for many years. They made their own homemade ice cream. Ive tried almost every flavor: Blueberry Amaretto, Choco Peanut Butter, Banana, Cookies & Cream, & a mint flavored with something else..it escapes me. I first tried it when i was twelve but hadnt had any until just recently and ifeel 12 again.

As far as candy was concerned, i used to love 100 Grand and mounds
I used to buy tons of hubba bubba gum. Did any one have a candy lady in their neighborhood?

I really used to love those Nik-L-Nips, and Candy Buttons. i used to get them all the time when i was a little kid. There used to be a convience store near my house that sold those little candy cigarettes, my mom used to light the end and blow them out so the end would be black, it tasted nasty but she said my grandpa used to do it so i always asked her to. i miss those times.
that exactly what i'm talking about!! =) i never did master how to get them off the paper with no paper attached. lol. ^_^()
