"We Are The New Vintage"

I use American Crew. I usually find it where I get my hair cut. It consider it an ok price, every time I buy it I wince but I still buy it. I don't need to buy it that often. I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for. It doesn't hold long and hard. After about 10 hours my hair is pretty loose which is ok with me but might not be ok with you.
Good luck.
I had to try a fair share of different pomades before I found one that really worked with my hair.
The first one I tried was the American Crew. It was good, and smelled really nice but wasn't stiff enough to accomplish the pompadour I wanted and it was a little pricey.
Murrays is like the polar opposite. Stiff as candle wax but the smell took some getting used to. A little went a long way and there was a thin line between not-enough and WAAAAY too much. It's dirt cheap though, and a decent starter pomade as you can experiment with different looks at is washes out in like 3-4 days after you put it in. Like the way you hair works on day 2 or 3? It's probably time to get something a little less stiff.
Right now I use Layrite, holds like pomade but is water soluble so it washes out like gel. I have both the original and the superhold for every day and event use respectively. It's easily my favorite and the one I'll be using for the next few years at least. It's a little expensive, but I think the results are more than worth it. http://www.hawleywoods.com/cat1.cfm
