So I don't want to sound whiny, but I am having problems at my job because I am "too pretty" what is this about? My whole life i was overweight, had bad skin, braces, glasses, frizzy hair, you name it. Now at my new job coworkers are treating me like crap and not acknowledging my efforts because they think I am just a pretty face and nothing else. That really upsets me because I have worked so hard and am actually a nerd and have a Master's degree. And I'm not that pretty. And I work super hard to look how I do, I teach at a gym, I eat well, spend tons of money on skincare products lol. Anyone else feel that people are mean to them because of their looks? I've never experienced this before it is weird to me.

I think men are still a little bit better at telling how hot a woman is. So they all think it helped you when it didn’t. maybe eventually it will help you? After taking enough b.s. you might just let it happen. ;–)

You can always tell them they're not that hot too. LOL just kidding, you don't want to get labeled "b****" too. Seriously though, just keep doing your job well, prove them wrong. And keep looking hot, don't let other people make you feel bad because they've already peaked.
:-* Good luck

Thank you guys. I am still having problems and a couple of people have gotten worse but it will have to die down eventually. I hear women say "She is not that hot" when I am walking past them. That is kind of funny though.

I'm so sorry you're going through this Marissa Lily because I Do understand how tough that is...especially if you don't quite consider yourself a beauty queen...but face it..YOU ARE :) There's nothing much you can do, in my experience at least. I still get very hurt when this happens because I'm very sensitive & don't understand how people could be so mean. Just keep taking beautiful care of yourself, the way you do & either they'll come around & get over their jealousy or they won't. It's really their problem in the end. I always go cry to my boyfriend, if it gets to be too much to handle, & he makes me laugh real hard & makes fun of the people that are being mean & I sure feel better....so my suggestion is, find someone who reeeaaally loves you & has a badass sense of humor & laugh your ass off! This helps me...good luck honey!

I was never the "pretty girl", was always the one who got picked last for groups at school and the boys would ask out for a joke. But what goes around comes around and now when I go back to my home town I have to laugh at how the old "pretty girls" look now! And they all want to be my friend!
I really dont want to sound up myself cos I'm really not but.....

.... cos I look younger than I am I do notice a definite difference in peoples attitudes to me, especially at work. Once I do tell people my age they realise that they have to take me seriously and I HAVE been around and I DO know what I'm talking about and Im not a silly little girl talking crap! It sounds like a weird thing to moan about and I wouldnt have much sympathy with me if I was someone else...if you see what I mean!
But its SOOOOO frustrating not being taken seriously especially in my profession where its important that people do actually listen to me and take my advice on board!

Oh I have definetely experienced this. I recently moved to a smalllll town in Illinois. Population 1000. I tried getting a job but people would turn their nose up at me because I have black hair tattoos and piercings. I get told I'm just that new gothic chick in town. Obviously they have never seen a goth person before, because unless im taking pictures my make up usually isn't very dark.
But I've decided it would just be best to move back to the city because I get treated like a psycho here. Tried to make friends, but thats just not happening..
So I feel for you. And there really isn't any advice to give you since the only way I can think of ending it here, is just to leave.
