Christmas Care package for Soldiers

I saw some rumblings about this in the forum and I have wanted to do something like this! I have been sending some of my prints to the troops for a while, but I would love to assist in doing more. I would love it if we could get a care package together for Christmas with pin up prints and other unique goodies for the soldiers. Red pinup lips

Lately, I have been trying to master my "pin up" makeup, especially the red lips. I discovered a really cool secret through trial and error, so I thought I would share! First of all, I tried the whole lipliner thing and I just couldn't get the hang of it. No matter what I did, it looked smudged and gross. So, I decided to take a different approach. Ballet Boots!

So yeah, I posted this in the forums, but just in case some of my profile visitors don't go to the forum, I decided to post it here. I got a couple of great responses already and I am down for any more insight!

Inspiration



One of the women who inspired me in the "classic" style is Ava Gardner. Ever since I was young, I admired her. Not only was she beautiful, but she was a classic brunette and something that I aspired to be. She is what I think of when I think "movie star". Photo shoot from Friday



So, I wrote a blog about the photoshoot I was doing with Dave Rodrigue on film, which is a first for me. He has a really unique style. He takes some pics on digital, to get the pose, and then takes the main ones on film. Anyway, I will have the film ones soon, but he just sent me a sample from the shoot. Pin up style?

Whenever I have a "pin up" shoot, I always ask myself the same question; what exactly is pin up style? It seems to be such a wide range of things. Anything can really be called "pin up". I guess when I think of a specific style, I think back to the 40's and 50's. I think back to the Ava Gardner and Betty Grable days. They were the classics.

This is my first blog on here! Woot! Anyway, first of all, how awesome is this site? It's like the pinup part of me and the internet freak part of me got together and had a kid!
