My first blog!

This is my first blog on here! Woot! Anyway, first of all, how awesome is this site? It's like the pinup part of me and the internet freak part of me got together and had a kid! It's about time there is a place like this for pin up lovers to gather. I had NO IDEA that pin up was the huge phenom that it is. Well, I guess I knew, but seeing it all in one place is pretty awesome.

Moving on, I am so excited about two shoots this weekend. I have a pinup shoot on Friday with a great local photographer who shoots mostly on film, instead of digital. I am so excited. He told me at a meeting we had last week, that he will shoot the model a few times on digital, in order to make sure he has the right pose and lighting and all that, and then he shoots the final shot on film! He only ends up taking about 10 real pictures, but from what he has told me, they end up being the best of the best. I'm pretty excited about it, mainly because it's different, so we shall see how it all goes.

Then, on Saturday, I'm shooting a fashion style shoot. It's not exactly, pinup, but I'm sure I will be able to add my own flair to it. I have only been doing this since June, so I end up learning something at every shoot. I haven't gotten to the point yet where I consider a shoot a "total waste" because I maybe didn't get the shots I wanted. I'm more in the learning process, at this point and I am having a lot of fun doing it all.

Next week, I'm shooting with a girl who just got into photography and who wants to do a pinup shoot for the first time. I have been the "pin up guinea pig" (for lack of a better term) for a few photographers, but that's ok. We all have to start somewhere! I think she wants it to have a "pin up nurse" theme, so we will see how that goes.
