UPDATE: "THE SOCIAL" tab goes bye bye!

• Blogs have been moved under MEDIA

• Forums had their own tab all along and it was redundant to have under THE SOCIAL.

• Groups have always been on the front page of the site, so that was redundant also.

• Chat is at the bottom of every single page and easilly visible, yep, redundant...


Enjoy the cleaner tabs up top!

NEW: Global Member Map!

Place a pin on your location! Lets see just how global PL is, you don't need to provide exact address, even city would be fine. Each pin will link to your profile complete with profile photo.



This map can be found under the MEMBERS tab, and also on the new social bar at the bottom of your window. Lets go see who lives around you...

UPDATE: New dark interface and misc small changes.

As you've probably noticed on PL's birthday (9/24) we flipped the switch on a fresh new look. "WHO TURNED OFF THE LIGHTS!?" This is the beginning of a few interface changes that will lead up to the official release of our new identity. When PL was originally launched the logo was created as a placeholder for what was to come, we figured we would have a few months to finalize things before opening the doors, who knew that we'd have thousands of members a few months in.

BETA: Need feedback on new Social (chat) Bar please!

As you can see at the bottom of the site we're testing a custom task bar. This allows us tons of flexibility with adding features and keeping them out of your way.

Currently the only noticable bug we see is that you cant "popout" the chat. This should be fixed shortly, we do know about it. If you NEED to pop the chat out, please click on THE SOCIAL at the top of the site, and go down to Chat. You can pop it out from there.

BETA: Need your help testing a new forum layout.

Most of the complaints about the current forum are about it being a bit complicated both in layout and features. We want to streamline the process, you won't notice any difference except some of the features becoming easier to use.



The BIG difference is allowing use of HTML code instead of the slowly disappearing BBCode. This means embedding your youtube, slideshows, pl album slideshows will work using the embed code from any site!.

NEW: Status feature coming soon...

We tested the integration of a STATUS area for about a month on the site to see if a microblogging (twitter) feature would be well received. The feedback was fantastic! We found people using it daily to update what was going on in their daily lives.



This test has since been shut down and in the coming days, we’ll be rolling out the Status feature permanently. You will see a Status box at the top of your Profile pages. This is the place to share an exciting announcement or post about… Continue

NEW: member search shortcuts added.

We've added a nice set of shortcuts under the MEMBERS tab at the top of the page. If you hover over it you will now see custom searches by member roles in the industry. For example if you want a list of all photographers, just select photographers.



Once on that page you could modify your search by region if you wanted, or you could do your own customized search by selecting Advanced Search from the MEMBERS drop down...

UPDATE: Latest Members returned to the front page.

We've received feedback on the most recent change that moved the "Latest Members" to the sidebar, the most common bit of feedback was that you were only able to view a small number of new members. You yelled, we listened. The Latest Members have been moved back to the main page where we plan on leaving them for the longrun. 27 new members are now visible which should be about 2 days worth.

UPDATE: Latest Classified postings are now visible sitewide

We've repaired the broken link we had in the classifieds section tonight and are once again able to display the latest listings. The 10 newest posts can be located between the 2 banners on the right side of the site on all pages. It's high traffic so start posting the items you have for sale or are looking to buy!
