Sooo... I don't know if anyone else has heard about these, but evidently in and around the DC area they hold annual Air Shows and USO Dance Re-enactments.

You can read about it here: http://www.jitterbuzz.com/vetsgear.html

They do a tribute to the vets too and literally transport back to 1943 for the night and Lindy Hop and Swing Dance it away! You can wear 1940's civilian ware, but even better; are those folks who show up in uniform... Anybody else heard about or attended one of these? Or does anyone know of anything like that around these parts?

I totally wish there was something like this in my area for us younger folks! I'd totally make the trip for it! :D

We have one of those in Indy every year. My swing club and the Naptown Stomp (Indy's swing club) teach a dance lesson, and most people do manage to dress up awesomely! Check out WWII re-enactment groups in your area, they usually do stuff like this and will have schedules/calendars posted detailing their events.
I would move to Indy JUST for the Swing Clubs! Lol :D I didn't think of that. I will definitely have to look more into some re-enactment groups here...

Is she now? Roseville isn't too far from me at all! Maybe I'll drop Lizzy a line. Thanks, Richie! =)
