"We Are The New Vintage"

Wow that issue bites, sorry to hear about that-
At worst I can imagine the photog might have had a problem with lighting
and film camera issues - and - being under experienced, maby he
retained the photos to save cred. Under exposed or over exposed photos are useless.
Still, by telling you 'I'll post them soon' or 'lets meet up' is a big mistake that
makes the issue worse.
I fully agree with Daddy C about confronting the person.
My only bad experience has been paying for a set that couldnt be developed for similar
reasons but it was an experiment and risk I was willing to make with that photog for some
crazy unique photos. I was only down $50.00 but the trip and expenses (plus MUA)
made it $180.00 out the window.
I believe making things clear before anything is shot is important.
If you are gonna count on the photos for something important, make that clear.
but, by all means if you both do a project to experiment
you can only be 50/50 on getting anything back.
Even if photos are a little under or over exposed it is still possible to 'rescue' them in photoshop, often by going for the black and white or 'arty' look - to fail to deliver is frankly not on. I always let my TFCD models have a selection of images within a couple of days and the proof CD within the week (fortunately never had a shoot with technical problems...probably because on digital you can instantly check the results)
