"We Are The New Vintage"
I'm considered plus size. Usually about 1x sometimes 2x though when I look at the plus size stores online for pin up or rockabilly clothing I'm considered a 3x or 4x and one site I was actually off the charts! That to me is extremely weird. Does anyone else have this problem? I'm not a very big girl either. I'm 6ft tall and measurements about Bust:46, Waist: 40, and Hips: 50.. Anyone with a similar issue know a good place to shop?

We have two great threads in our fashion and shopping section, one is Where to Shop, and the other is Plus Size Shopping, and there are many more that might help. Please take a look over there and I'm sure you'll find the help you need.
As far as the fit, each company is different. The only way to really tell is if they have their measurements listed or you buy something and try it on.
I hope that I am not out of line here but my all time fave retro clothing manufacturer is Pin Up Girl Clothing. Although I am slightly smaller than you, and I usually wear an XL in most dresses, it can all vary. Anyway PUG goes all the way up to 4X. And if you click on to their website you can go directly to their plus size clothing. And usually their descriptions will tell you the measurements of the clothing item and if their is any stretch. I am also pretty sure that Bettie Page Clothing has plus sizes. I think that sizing always varies from one manufacturer, but I think that it varies the most in the retro repro world. Of course, in the old days all sizes were in fact smaller than they are now. When I go to antique and thrift stores where there are no dressing rooms I try to remember to bring a tape measure to get a better idea about if a particular piece of vintage clothing will fit me. In fact when I first started getting into the glamour girl/pinup world I did so buy buying vintage clothing, just because of price and uniqueness. But then I discovered that I was really a vintage woman at heart. If I could wear vintage or vintage style all the time, I would. Sadly that is not a possibility at this time. Anyway good luck. And Mira if you want some other suggestions, just drop me a line.
Hi Mira,
We carry up to 4X online and at our physical showroom. We also can place custom orders on a case by case basis if it's a company we normally carry. Hopefully this helps!

OH, JBR! These people are great. I should have also mentioned them! And you know how I found about JBR? Right here!
Jackdaw Landing goes up to 4x
Yeah, Ive seen the pinupgirlclothing clothes. I love them, I want them all, Lol! But sadly a lot of them are sold out. But I've discovered a new store called Modcloth I like their clothing, they go up to a 4X as well. Hopefully PUG will get some new items in I would really love to buy some dresses from there.

There is also Betty Le Bonbon over in Australia. They have circle skirts right now, but will be coming out with dresses in the fall. They're all made to order and they specialize in plus sized sizes. I'll link you to their Facebook. They do have an online store but they frequently have changes in fabrics so you'll be more up to date on FB. They're very friendly so feel free to ask questions.
