I don't know about you girls, but I have to work at keeping my body in shape. One thing I love about pinup is that it is full of real honest to goodness ladies and we are not all shaped the same. The perfect body is not required, but we all want to look our best.

The purpose of this discussion is to talk about exercise tips for the ladies targeting certain areas of our bodies!!! Let us know tricks you have learned or any crazy things you have tried in the past. :)

I just went for my annual physical today. I found out that I had lost 16-18 pounds since last year! YIPPEE! I have always loved to dance. So part of my routine is to keep dancing. I dance at the gym also... Zumba. It is great fun and a great workout. I do light weight work a couple of times a week. And I go walking for an hour on the days I don't go to the gym.

I have been a vegetarian for many years, although now I do eat a bit of seafood. But the major thing that I have done over the past 9 months or so is to drastically cut back on carbs. I still eat them, but much less often and in smaller quantities. I also try to use less fats, olive oil occasionally and once in a great while a bit of butter. I feel great and everyone seems to be commenting to me about how I've lost weight and how great I am looking.

I just turned 51 June 4th.  I am finding that lifting and cycling are what keep me fit!  A diet that is healthy...eat 3 meals a day and try not to snack on junk food!

Not as much as I should!

I walk alot and do belly dance (tribal fusion) and some yoga.

Wii fit thing looks like fun but I've never tried it. I find if I try to do DVD's I get bored after like two weeks, so if it changes with you then it might be worth trying out!

The only specific targeted exercises I do regularly are my "waist training" set...takes too long to type it all out but you can find them HERE

I recently got some excercises to target the inner thighs and to lift the bum, have not actually tried them yet but that is my problem area just now. Will report back if they work.

Oh and  Timebomb Tessy ..I totally do that tiptoes thing too! its awsome for your calfs.

I live in a 12-story condo building and I climb the 12 flights of stairs twice each day.  The first time walking, that's the warm-up, and the second time at a jog.  It keeps my legs in shape and is good aerobic exercise.

I also do two sets of leg lifts each day to keep my tummy in shape.

Believe it or not ladies....I'm not crazy over being naturally thin, but yoga is the best workout for me !  I love that it keeps me toned without weight loss, and just helps me maintain a nice figure overall.  It's also wonderful for my posture.  I've been doing it for over 5 years...helped keep my body in great shape.

I use Wii Fit, but I also play Just Dance on the Wii. It's good cardio if you do it like you're supposed to. I ride my bicycle everyday, and I also really like to hula hoop. :)

Well us fellas often like to keep looking good....I run four times a week and always keep afoot diary on my iPhone using myfitness pal so that I know exactly whats going in.
A far as running is concerned I do a mixture of sprints and jogging over a 2.5 km distance.

For me it is swimming that best suits (ha) me and the challenges of being over 40.  Way over.  LOL  When I get in the water I never stop moving my arms and legs. At the end of the pool I do stationary kicks and stomach curls bringing my knees up to my chest with tummy tight and back down again. Water walking is really good and you can push yourself as hard as you want. Im afraid Im not much for putting my head in the water as the red hair isnt natural and quite hard to keep the shade from fading or going green in the clorine.

Any kind of dance workout is a must for me. I don't like to feel like I'm working out but rather that I'm doing something I really enjoy doing with the added bonus of staying fit. It's also somewhat difficult for me because I live with the auto-immune illness Lupus which is aggravated by stress (emotional and physical) amongst other things. I try to do about 40-50 minutes of cardio 2-3 times a week depending on my schedule and how I feel. Also instead of drinking soda or energy drinks when I'm tired I opt for homemade lemonade (light sugar or agave nectar) or seltzer water with a small amount of agave nectar.

I take dance classes to stay fit, as well as 3x a week at the gym.  I am naturally slim and find it difficult these days to put weight on so I don't go too crazy on the cardio.  My eating habits are also more grazing than eating 3 meals.  Lot's of lean protein to help keep nice muscle tone.

NICE! I just had a Hip bone spur removed a couple months ago, so I am limited. Swimming a couple thousand meters always helps to tone. I got this awesome waterproof ipod shuffle thing that attaches to the back of my goggles! I do an hour on the bike or :45 on the stair master either before or after my weight training which now is isometrics. They had me do up a Gluteus minimus specific workout to strengthen the tendons back. I took gymnastics for 10 years, so It's catching up to me.

I am taking whey protein & snacking on meal replacement shakes in between meals. I am taking Caesin protein at night so my body doesn't go catabolic while I sleep. I take  vitamins and micronized Glutamine with my proteins. I have been back with serious regimented training for 2 weeks. I have a full time job, college and exams for both, so it can be hard to make time to work out or eat or whatever the case may be. Hope this helps! www.bodybuilding.com has awesome workouts and supplement/ diet plans and so does youtube.com :D
