So, I really need a hobby. Some people play sports, roller derby, skateboard, kick boxing, dancing, and so on. I wanna know what you ladies do? (That makes you get in shape and/or lose weight) I'm sick of being a couch potato I need to do SOMETHING! :)

BELLY DANCING!!! :D

Oh my gosh..I took this in college and fell in love with it. And man does it work out your thighs! A few months ago I was searching for a belly dancing group to join and learn more belly dancing but life got soo busy. That form of dancing is soo beautiful. And I also love it because it's for any size woman (and men) The clothing is also very pretty I have 2 coin skirts (purple and black)

Oh yeah..sorry about your injury..I hope you have a speedy recovery hun!

Thanks Buttercup!

Well I don't do it lately because of a recent injury, I still cannot walk right. But when I am up and around and can do it, I really like belly dancing and hula. Both great workouts! Both fun!

Ice hockey? NICE. I feel I would be a cry baby if I got hit or something. Good for you!! :)

Thanks Lottie!

I play ice hockey on a summer league here in Texas, keeps me cool! :)

The whole thing about going to the gym freaks me out. I feel like everybody is looking at me or having creepy guys staring at me while working out. Also, being in a room full of sweaty people gross to me out haha.

I have girlfriends that are strippers and I knew them before they were one and man they have great bodies. And awesome upper body strength. I look at YouTube videos and see the pole dancers that do it as a competition it's a whole new level of stength.

Thanks Roxy!

Hula hooping and going to the gym. I'm a total gym rat, I love it. And I hoop at home when I'm bored or watching tv, it's really good for your core. I want to get into pole dancing (I haven't done it since I was a stripper) but I loved it then, and it was a great work out.

My boyfriend and I will be getting a 1 1/2 year old boxer in a couple weeks so maybe I can use him as I have to go out and walk or run because boxers are pretty hyper dogs.

Thanks Penny!

I take my dogs running, I do anything with them and usually they keep me on my toes.  I have tiny dogs but they run like little rockets, and it is free.  The only hard part is when the weather is bad, like it has been monsooning in the midwest for the past 3 weeks so I have been kind of lazy too.  Also my job keeps me more in shape, I manage a restaurant so I sit down for about 30 minutes out of my 10 hour shift.  Good luck lady!

Yeah pole dancing is the one sticking out more for me now. Need to make more research on studios.

Thanks Sarah!

I'm BIG into running and yoga. Although I am seriously considering pole dancing reading this stuff!

Soo true..now I have to find my IPOD. And yes I need a stress reliever and dancing is a good one! I love it! Since I don't have many girlfriends that like to go out and dance I think I will start my mini club in my living room haha.

Thanks Lauren!

Bike riding and definitely dancing. Just putting on some tunes and dancing in my living room, quite the workout and stress reliever!

I know for a fact my boyfriend is going to love it! He'll want me to practice on him! He has mentioned about buying a pole for me so it's a SIGN! I need to pole dance!

Have fun with that!!

Thanks for your input Mama! :)

I do swing dancing and learning lindy hop, it keeps you relatively fit! That and walking!!! You can never go wrong with walking or riding a bicycle!

I find if a "work out" is fun you will be more prone to doing it. Which is why I have been pole dancing for over 4 years and am going to open a studio here for Fitness "outside the box" Silks, burlesque, pole, bellydance ect. There until this past year was not a pole dance studio I mostly learned from dvd's with occasionally taking lessons when traveling.

Pole is great fun, however it is not for those that mind bruises because when you are learning you will get lots of them!

I would tell you to come visit my house during Beatersville, but I have a feeling time will be hard to find. I have two poles set up in my living room.

Do you use a weighted Hula-Hoop? I've tried this as a work-out but can't keep the darn thing going. I heard of weights you can attach to the hoop but haven't found anything.

I bellydance and it's a great work out & fun! Once you get the hang of it you can't stop! Not only great for tummy but arms too because you are always using them.
