Just starting out

I'm new to the pinup world but I have always loved it from a far.
I went to Ink N Iron in Long Beach and got some really great feedback about me trying to branch out and get myself started with a port.

I'm really short on funds but I really would love for some photographers to take my photo. Is it bad to ask them if they will do TFP?

It never hurts to ask, the worst anyone can say is no. Your best bet is to find photographers who are also just starting out and looking to build their portfolios as well, that way everyone benefits

I agree with Harlean that it is ok to ask. I only to a TFP if the model has a classic pinup look about her or has a great wardrobe of her own. Keep in mind that the less experienced the photographer the less wow your images will have. Pinup photography is very different from traditional portraiture and requires a great deal of study and practice to get great images. Good luck with your quest and have fun.

Harlean is absolutely right. Ask around. There are a lot of young talented adults in school that are looking for experience. open up a model mayhem account. make alot of contacts along the way. some may call it networking. whatever you call it, make sure you treat everyone respectfully, and surprisingly, doors will open. It will take hard work on your part for sure. also, ask around with your friends and family, maybe they might know of someone who dabbles in photography. good luck!!!!

I truly appreciate it and can't wait to see what happens. I do plan on working hard towards this.
I see great things coming. I'm sure its going to be a hard road but I know it will be worth it.
