Help With a Costume...

Okay so...

I'm putting together a burlesque costume for a Josephine Baker routine/tribute and while I'm still working on the skirt (which is coming along easier than I thought it would), I've been thinking about how I'm going to construct the bra next.

It's not an actual bra, but more of a cage that the breast just sits in. I was going to take inspiration from the original photos of Josephine and the costume made for the a la recherche de Joséphine show as seen in the first and second photos I posted below. I have an idea to use under-wire bras by removing the fabric and somehow binding or welding other wires together to create the actual cage/dome, but I was hoping to hear some other thoughts that any of you might have on an easier way to possibly do it...

If you have any ideas to make my life easier, please let me know! Lol!

you could easily make the bra with stuff from Micheals or Hobby Lobby (just a craft store) just use some copper wire or regular wire and you should be able to find some pretty similar beads, beading string, felt cloth in a nude shade, and a hot glue gun. hope this helped :/

I second what Mrs.Killer said.
Hobby Lobby and Michaels will have it, probably even Home Depot. All you need is sculpture/bending wire and a pair of needle nose pliers, and perhaps a little patience. It comes in coils, and its fairly simple to cut and bend. All you would need to do is thread on the decorations as you wish, and just cut out the lengths of wire, leaving enough length at the ends to wrap them around other pieces of wire into the shape you are trying to achieve. At least for the bra cup, part. As for the part where it hangs around the neck and the back, all you will probably need is a chain-like material, similar to necklaces but more heavy duty. Then you'd just connect them to the cups by tying them with wire, I'd imagine. It will probably take a lot of improvising, but I'm sure it will come together.
