I cannot find an eye makeup remover that does the trick. I wear black eyeliner; usually Giorgio Armani smooth stick eye pencil in Charcoal or MAC fluidline in Blacktrack (gel eyeliner). I think my real problem is my mascara; I love the stuff and it's my daily go-to product; Diorshow waterproof in their blackest shade. Merle Norman Luxiva has come the closest to getting it all off. I just bought a Neutrogena oil-free product; it doesn't do it. I've even tried straight olive oil to get the dang stuff off! I always wind up with black soot settling into the creases beneath my eyes the next day! Is it a technique thing? Do I need a new product? I would love to know what you lovely ladies do to get rid of raccoon eyes. ;)

I wear the Dior Show mascara too (or I did until 2 weeks ago), and the best I've found is Lancome. Philosophy Purity face wash (it has make up remover in it) with a little Lancome make up remover works amazingly. It takes off everything!

Thanks for the tips! I have some Purity face wash; do you just use a qtip on the eye area or what?

Which Lancome product are you using? I like the DiorShow because it gives me super-long, fake looking lashes. I want to try the Givenchy one with that weird little round brush. I just ordered Imju Fiberwig out of curiosity; it's not supposed to flake.

I use jojoba oil and it works "gently" If that doesn't do the trick you can try mixing a 1 part castor oil to 3 parts jojoba oil to clean off the makeup. Gently rub in the oil and remove with a steaming hot cloth. The nice thing about jojoba oil is that it doesn't leave an oil residue behind so the next day your makeup shouldn't run. You want to take it easy with the removers that contain alcohol around your eyes, when you're older you'll be happy you did.
I use to do make up for a haunted house and I understand that it's not exactly the same but I use to use Extra Virgin Olive Oil to remove the make up and it helps to prevent the skin around your eyes from drying out and if not then the jojoba oil should do the trick
i just use lotion (lubridum). It works very well for me and i just bought a eye liner that is really good and very waterproof. hope this helps
Thanks ya'll. I've done the olive oil, but it still doesn't cut it with my mascara. I'm going to give the jojoba/castor oil a try! I do so love playing kitchen alchemist. ;)
I use the Lancome in the blue bottle, don't remember the actual name. I put some on a cotton ball, swipe it over my eye, and use the dry side to wipe it off. Works like a charm.
Roxy, I tried purity made simple on a very light coating of Diorshow. It worked! We'll see if there is a racoon effect in the morning but I think it might be my magic makeup remover. Thanks! :)

As insane as this sounds, Mouthwash!
It strips stage makeup perfectly.
Just make sure you don't get it in your eyes. =0p
Baby oil on a cotton ball & then cold cream your whole face. Follow up with a Q-tip under your eyes to detail.
As an all-around makeup remover (and moisturizer), I use the B is for Baby Baby Wipes with Shea Butter. I just wipe my whole face with one of those things, and it removes my makeup and leaves my face feeling so fresh! :) It's great at moisturizing too, because I get seriously dry around the corners of my nose and my T-Zone especially.

Towels can be pretty rough on the skin, especially the sensitive flesh under the eyes, which is one of the main reasons why I use the baby wipes. What I also like about them is that when you wipe off eye makeup, it's very gentle and doesn't sting if you just so happen to get it in your eye; AND you don't get the raccoon look afterward! :)

Of course, I wouldn't recommend them if you're allergic to Shea Butter lol but you can get them without :D
