Pinup session fees

 I am wondering what other pinup photographers with a studio charge for a photo session. I know it does depend greatly on where you are located and how much competition you have. I am going to increase my session fee from $100.00 to $125.00. Most sessions are about an hour and a half. I do have some clothing and props available. With the time I spend editing photos, I don't think I am charging enough, but since I am not in a big city, I am not sure if a higher fee will cause me to lose customers. About 70% of mycustomers are military wives and we give a 10% discount to military families which is standard for all businesses around me. I would appreciate any feedback from photographers or anyone who has an opinion.

that seem very reasonable to me. It's alot harder to find photographers who specialize in pin up work, that arent in larger cities

Hey Shirley,

I'm located in Louisville ky.
We charge $400 per shoot. This includes hair and makeup as well as a cute hard cover book of images.

A while back I found my business was slow.... I knew I was charging a VERY reasonable rate at the time and like yourself, (with editing, providing props etc) found I was undervaluing my services.

Consequently, I added 50% again to my hourly rate... and suddenly, I was busy again... possibly I felt envigorated by the extra cash and that attracted more people or people just took me more seriously at the new rate... either way, business boosted by about 40% that quarter!.
