Gorelesque?

ok i found a few videos recently and i wasn't sure what exactly they were, i kept looking for more info and all i really got was that within the burlesque community there is a little population that does "Gorelesque" and i have no idea really what it is. is it just horror themed burlesque? does anyone know?

It pretty much is horror themed burlesque - usually involving gore and blood. There tend to be a lot of evol nurse routines. Some are incredibly good - as they are huge on the "special effects" such as blood packs, blood knives, etc.

It's not to everyone's taste and (as with all sub-genres of burlesque) there are those in the burly core that feel it isn't quite burlesque - as it is more horror than comedy, etc. But often it can be both - though often the laughter from the audience is nervous laughter, lol.

I don't know about in the States, but it's a full on sub-genre here in the UK and there are whole troupes and nights that are dedicated to doing nothing but gorelesque.

that sounds really cool!! i can never find much about it whenever i look. on occasion there will be a video or two but not enough to really explain things. have you ever seen a gorelesque show?

I've never heard of this before this thread, then again, I'm just coming back into the scene after a two year hiatus.

Whoa. That's intense! We've used fake blood, but not to the extent that bunnies are playing with her intestines. :) It's a very interesting contrast between the cute, feminine bunnies and the blood, quite the dichotomy!
