I don't know about you girls, but I have to work at keeping my body in shape. One thing I love about pinup is that it is full of real honest to goodness ladies and we are not all shaped the same. The perfect body is not required, but we all want to look our best.

The purpose of this discussion is to talk about exercise tips for the ladies targeting certain areas of our bodies!!! Let us know tricks you have learned or any crazy things you have tried in the past. :)

Somethings I do that help with toning the butt and abs....When you don't have a lot of time to dedicate to an exercise program, trying little things that can be done while doing something else can help.

Multi-Tasking:
1. Tone your backside! When I am in the car I squeeze my butt together, count to 8, then release. Repeat until you're done driving.
2. Whether I am walking, sitting, or just standing...I try to keep my stomach pulled in, like you are attaching your belly button to your spine (something I learned in pilates). This helps toning the abs and improves your posture too - which is always good!
Yes! I'm glad someone agrees with me! I have friends who are clearly meant to be bigger gals and there's NOTHING wrong with that! Not everyone is born to be a size zero! We have to get over that crap! It's really sad to see girls that are healthy and beautiful feeling down because they don't look like an anorexic super model. Believe me being super skinny isn't all it's cracked up to be. I used to be nothing but skin and bones and it was nothing but people worrying that I was starving to death even though I was not! I ate like a pig but could'nt gain a pound..it sucked. Believe me, I did'nt get any dates then. I'm glad I have some curves now..I don't look as awkward and freakish as before.

I lost 20 pounds this year. I went from 165 to 145.

The most basic rules I can recommend to anyone is this.

-do at least 20 minutes of cardio a day. Cardio melts away the fatty fat on our bodies.
- sit ups and crunches. I know. they suck- but once your muscles get used to the routine, they get easier to do over time. Just remember to take the 3 minutes for an ab workout.

-eat right. I know...it's hard to pass up tasty snacks, but just watch what you eat. You can try writing down your food intake for a day and really think about what you're putting in your body. You can try a vegetarian diet and see how that works out. Most people that make the veggie switch notice changes in their bodies in the same week.

The gym can get boring. I try to find things that will make me move but that are also fun.
Its encouraging to keep it up.

I started going to aerial tissu classes in the middle of the summer. Yes, I do mean like circus aerials. It's a super fun way to kick your own ass. I use muscles I never knew existed just to climb. And it's fun because you get to hang upside down from your feet n stuff.

I also got an adult size hoola hoop. I stand for a good 30 minutes just hooping while I watch an episode of the simpsons. That's a cardio and a core workout right there, baby...and it's easy to pick up a hoola hoop and it's fun. I take hoola hoop breaks at work.
I've just joined weight watchers...it really helps having support meetings available. As far as exercise...house work really seems to get calories running away...I think one of the most fun, and best for the waist line things is the old fashioned hula hoop. 5 minutes a day. (great for the burlesque moves too.)

The other exercise that I love is, Hula...it's amazing!
We were created to be differant shades, and shapes. There is beauty in all of us...we are all princesses! I'm a curvy girl...and that is what I like. I love that being a pin up allows me to be myself in so many way...I can have a shape!

Congrats!!! Losing 20 lbs is awesome. Great tips too, and easy to follow. I wish I could just commit, my willpower is zero..lol. Again, great job!

One time, I did the cabbage soup diet for 3 days. I lost 3 pounds in 3 days, but it was terrible! I don't recommend it! I work 8-5 and I don't have the discipline to exercise before work and I'm too pooped when I come home. So, I take a walk during break. I definitely don't get my recommended 30 minutes a day, but it's better than nothing! I also sometimes do the "butt-squeezing" thing when I'm sitting at my desk.
I recently lost a few pounds by cutting out gluten from my diet (my doctor thinks I may have gluten sensitivities). I still eat carbs, but no wheat flour, no beer (boo hoo), no sandwiches, no flour tortillas. I've been eating more salads and healthier homemade meals (no Hamburger Helper - that stuff is so bad for you!) I cut out fast food, unless it's a salad or bun-less burger.
glad to hear that I am not the only person who is fitness focused!

I got to the gym 6 days a week. I lift weights (body pump) monday, wednesday, saturday, and I do turbo kick tuesday, thursday and sunda. friday's I take off as my rest day because who wants to work out on a friday?!

I have been making more of an effort to cut carbs out of my diet because I dropped 30 lbs when I did that, but that is proving to be difficult the second time around :(
I've always tried to live by the idea that there is perfect (which there is no such thing) and then there is "perfectly me" and that is me as I am, doing the things that are right for me and my body. Ask RoxyTart about the square pumpkin ;)

Me, I hate working out. I wish I could be one of those girls who loves to, but I don't! I'd rather get my cardio shopping! About 3 years ago I started watching my portions and kept to a certain calorie/fat gram count and ended up losing 60 lbs. Didn't really workout much, until about 2 and a half years ago. I've built muscle but have noticed my "bat wing" arms and the excess skin that creeps up above my bra band. SO attractive! I need to work on my lower body and upper arms. That is where I carry my weight. I never want to lose my curves, but it's so hard buying pants to fit when my waist is 27 inches and my hips are 41! It's crazy! I did however buy Kim Kardashian's Fit in your jeans by Friday and the few times I have done it so far, whew! What a workout! But you feel it in every muscle the next day (no pain, no gain huh?) I just need to get motivated more to visit the gym more often! I've thought about taking dance classes, you always hear about the girls on Dancing with the Stars losing weight as the season progresses.
I do fit to strip too! It makes for killer legs!

I know exactly what you mean about the part of your upper thighs under your toosh! That area is my main concern right now. What I am doing for that is max incline on the treadmill 30 min. (at least 4 times a week) and a series of lunges and squats. An awesome video to pick up is Carmen Electra's Strip Aerobics (the #2 video in the series - Fit to Strip). You see results FAST! :)
At least we aren't doing this....
