The day started out hectic with my youngest defecating in her pants and me failing to bring extra diapers and wipes to the gym cutting my workout time in half. Then, I tried to get the grocery shopping done since I was out and about but by this time the troops were hungry and grumpy which turned everything sour quite quickly! (Crazy how the slightest change in routine will upset children SO much.) Anyway, I was feeling really crappy and exhausted but now my day has completely turned around. I went from feeling NOT ok, to OK. Why can the smallest of things make such a miraculous difference? Just a simple little moment can change everything. (I realize that some people might call this bi-polar disorder. Well, I've already been tested for that and ...negative.)
AnyWHO, I've started a list of things I want to do. I'm not going to call it a 'bucket list' or add the words "before I die". I'd rather just say.. "a list of things I plan to do in my lifetime." There is no real order of importance... just the order in which they came to me.
1. Learn to drive a motorcycle. I ran it past my husband and he's not thrilled. I guess the thought of me on two wheels is terrifying. The compromise that has been arranged is: I will get a scooter first and THEN when I'm really good at driving it, I MIGHT be allowed to graduate to a motorbike. Whatever. It's a start.
2. Visit Scotland
3. Own and get licensed to shoot my very own gun. I've shot one before and LOVED it....how it felt to hold it and the power behind it. It was intimidating so I gained a new respect for firearms that I hadn't had before. That's why I would want to be trained and licensed. On the other hand it was invigorating and exciting. I don't want to hunt or anything. I just want to be able to shoot at targets and have the knowledge and ability to protect myself and my family if needed. Besides, according to the police officer in Super Bad, having a gun is like "having two cocks, if one of your cocks could shoot someone." Sounds good to me.
4. Black belt in Kung-Fu Master (hey, I've already got my yellow..)
5. See the Statue Of Liberty
6. Become a well-known Pin-Up Model
7. Sing in a band (doesn't have to be a famous one.. I just like to sing.)
8. Learn to Tap Dance
9. Join the UNHCR - The UN Refugee Agency
10. Be a published writer
11. Make out with Angelina Jolie
That's what I have so far. Of course my ultimate goal is to see my kids grow up to be happy, healthy adults and live happy healthy lives. That goes without saying.
Well....
I've babbled enough for today. I Have a meeting at work around 6 and am going out with a couple of gals afterward. Should be interesting......
