Chomp's Going into Surgery Today

Yesterday's Vet appointment confirmed that Chomp's tail must be amputated. They recommended amputating it almost completely. He will end up with a nub kinda like a rottweiler. His injury got worse almost over night and we tried to call the 24 hour emergency clinic but all 50 times that I called it was busy every time. He spent the night in the hospital so fluids could be administered and they could watch him. He had been shivering because of the pain Sunday night. The estimate we were given was a shocking $610. Almost a full months rent. I will call shortly and see how he did overnight. In a few hours he will be going under and hopefully wake up with a new stubby tail. Matilda whined all night for her buddy. Shes been moping around and Rusty can't sleep. Its strange how much animals have feelings just like people. I am hoping to have Chomp home this evening. When he gets home I will post photos of him and his newly amputated tail. Three people were kind enough to help us with donations for the bill. We thank you very much. Any amount would be helpful right about now. Even if its only a dollar or two. We definitely weren't expected a $610 dollar bill. Please share our Chip In widget with others.
