This was brought to my attention in a convo earlier and now
I'm just curious
What is our obsession with cherries? Has anyone ever noticed it looks a bit familiar?? Call me crazy but it looks like two nutz?
Do two cherry's have any meaning?
Do cherry's signify your virginity?

What do you like about about Cherry's? The fruit, clothing? anything Cherry

I've always associated cherries with the very first lip balm I was aloud to wear when I was little and playing with Cabbage patch kids with my friends. It signifies my girlishness. It's absolutely THE girliest looking fruit of all, red & shiny like the lipstick we strive to find, round and in pairs is the best (like boobies!) It's very sexy to eat (even when alone) with it's sweet and bitter taste (raw cherries not maraschino) and it's all for the ladies. Something stinky boys would almost never sport in print on their clothing...(I said almost)...it's the international sign of "Girl" and it belongs to us! Here here!

I also love research.. I'm a self proclaimed nerd.. and I don't talk about anything that I don't consider myself somewhat knowledgeable in.. haha.. and i was curious about the cherry thing too, after you brought it up.. the best thing i could find was this:
"I don't agree with any of that. Swallows, cherries, and nautical symbols are trends because they are the "old school" style of tattoos. Since there are people who choose the rockabilly lifestyle, they choose tattoos that are old school because rockabilly is old school. It's difficult for people to understand if they don't follow the culture. People who get old school tats, yet have no idea of the stories or lore behind them are ridiculous." No JUST KIDDING!! hahaha it was the first google page that came up.. http://www.tattoo-meanings.com/cherry-tattoos.html that one was OK.. pretty much the whole virginity thing you all touched on.. engulfed in flames it means an uncontrollable desire.. OOoooo.. I'm still never getting cherry tattoos! sorry! haha
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!..i would SO SPORT THAT CHICKEN Material !!!

Oh Honey, don't get me started :)

When something is in mint condition, it's called "Cherry". The fruit is juicy, sweet, and sexy. The color red is always a favorite too. There are just so many reasons to love cherries!

They are extra healthy for you, they are a significant source of potassium, vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin E, calcium, iron, folate and selenium. They have several phytonutrients that may help fight cancer. One such compound, perillyl alcohol, binds to protein molecules to inhibit cancer’s growth signals. Another is anthocyanins, which is the red pigment in berries. Cherry anthocyanins have been shown to reduce pain and inflammation. Anthocyanins are also potent antioxidants that isolate certain destructive by-products of metabolism and usher them safely from the body.

Cherries have also been shown to contain high levels of melatonin. Research has shown that people who have heart attacks have low melatonin levels. Besides being an anti-oxidant, melatonin has also been shown to be important for the function of the immune system. Research also indicates that melatonin suppresses COX-2. There is considerable interest at present in the use of fresh cherries or cherry juice to treat gout - a painful inflammatory joint condition.

Cherry flavors and aromas have also been used in sexual enhancers, cherry flavored condoms, cherry scented candles oils and perfumes, cherry flavored sexual enhancing drinks or pills, etc. In addition to this, cherries are also added as ingredient to many aphrodisiac themed recipes. They are especially potent for women.

All that being said, the wet juicy cherry in the HappyHer.com logo is a symbol of all that is sweet, sexy and juicy! Dip them in dark chocolate and they are absolutely decadent.
As a vintage seller, I can tell you that only *once* have I ever come across an actual vintage piece with a cherry print on it over the past 4 years. I've always contributed the whole cherry cliche as having been started by being influenced by the dress Marilyn wore in the Misfits:

Interesting????? OHH that Marilyn could wear a potato sack and we' d be dying to wear it
