In March 09, 'LR' is planning a Vintage issue, and we're interviewing one of PL's members, Roxie Roulette, as a part of it.
But... we want to know what draws people to the lifestyle? Why do you love vintage pinup modelling?
Give us a good answer, and you might find yourself on our pages... viewed by thousands of fashionistas worldwide! It's a great oppertunity to get yourself known outside of pinup circles - so let us know!
I think what draws people to the lifestyle is all the beautiful women. Pin up modeling is very different from lets say runway model or high fashion modeling. Most of those model are all skinny, not to most variety. Now pin up models are all different shapes and sizes, some have tattoos, some don't. Also being a pin up model you have amazing confidence and love one another.
I love vintage pinup modeling because I love the 30's-50's. The clothing, cars, homes, everything was so amazing! I always as a kid loved how women dressed and look. I used to look at pictures of my grandmother and great grandmother and always obsessed about the clothes! The fashion was so elegant but had sexiness to it. Housewives was wearing dresses with aprons cooking for a loving family. It really seems like pleasantville.
I just read your blog post about the vintage issue and would love to submit something for consideration.
The women of the 40's & 50's were full of style and class...the definition of sexy...real women have curves. I believe that beauty is more then a pretty face and a size 2 waist - I love the world of Pinup because it shows what true beauty really is. I grew up surrounded by the lifestyle - the cars, the clothes, the women, the music...and wouldn't change it for the world.
Thanks for putting this out there! I am excited to see what everyone says!
