Why can't I send a message to ALL my friends?

I tried to send a message to ALL my friends but it kept telling me I couldn't send more than 100. If I can't send a message to all my friends at one time, what's the point of having a "send to all my friends" button? Just wondering...:-)

I'm sorta with you on that, unfortunately its a feature of the code we cannot remove and wish we could altogether. However I do understand why its there, For informing your friends you have your blog, for discussions, you have the forum. For advertising you are either an advertiser and can post commercially or you have the marketplace which is a fantastic spot.

With all those solutions in place, there is no need to send a msg blast to 100 friends that could get anyone reported of abusing of the messaging system (aka spam). If that happens PL will be very strict in responding (and has been on 2 occasions already). The people on your friends list might be strict also and either drop you as a friend or choose to ignore ALL communications from your account.

Both outcomes are counterproductive to a social networking environment. Thus its best to target your audience by safer methods.

With who? btw let me clarify.. when i said i wish it could be removed, i didnt mean the cap. I meant the mass message feature altogether.

Hahaha, well with both of you actually. But if we can't send it to everyone then it would be nicer to just not see the option at all.
