I've noticed that a lot of people like zombies. I personally LOVE LOVE LOVE Vampires. Zombies don't appeal to me the way Vampires do. Fast, deadly, beautiful, intelligent - I think everything about Vampires is amazing!

So the question is: What attracts you to zombies?

That's a great wat to explain it! : )
I too prefer Vamps over Zombies any day...they are much sexier! ;) If you want to read a great lesser known tale about a vampire written in the 1800s, check out the tale Carmilla http://www.sff.net/people/Doylemacdonald/l_carmil.htm
By J. Sheridan LeFanu YOu will LOVE it! Very sensual!
This film was like eye porn for me! Seriously, watch it, watch it now!

you mean The Zombie Survival Guide, huh? me, i like the gore and cheesy humor!!! i know you all arent fans, but PLEASE check out te movie Fido!! its set in the 50's and its about a boy and his zombie pet!
i dont know about the zombie thing. i think its a tribute to the classic horror movies that rock! but im more into vamps as well. been a vamp fan sence i was a little girl. and now this twilight thing has taken me back to high school, where i would have given my life to have an edward of my own. i loved those books more than i can say. the movie was ok, but the one in my head, was amazing!
ok reanimating corpses to fight wars and dead people eating flesh is more 'real' to you than a human who would live on the blood of others? i think both are unrealistic, but reanimating the dead i think is less likly than someone feeding from others blood, for gods sake there are people who do that! but yeah, the idea of zombies is scarier, but i dont think as plausable. no zombies couldnt in fact be real, at least not any more real than vampires.

I dont think it is an appeal to BE a zombie.. or be LIKE a zombie.. i think its the appeal of the realism of it all.. Zombies could in fact be real.. they're us, only dead.. and thats scary. Like the reports of the germans reanimating corpses to fight the war... it could happen. And it makes you think about human characters and memories.. like Bub in day of the dead.. it's just so interesting!! It creeps me out and has much more interest to me then something like a vampire i guess.. Vampires are cool.. but just not scary..

But why do you like zombies? I just don't understand their appeal.

I'm a zombie fan. I've read the zombie survival guide, and World War Z by max brooks..I'm looking forward to reading recorded attacks when it comes out in spring.. pretty much prepared for a zombie Apocalypse of any kind..
I love zombie films.. no matter what they creep me out!! I have seen every George Romero movie a million times, and every time i get uneasy.. and i love the satirical undertones about our culture.. he's a genius. Oh and FIDO.. great movie!
I really like to watch my b/f play left for dead on 360 too.. it's great.
And for a zombie movie idea... I've always wondered why there are no zombie movies set in the winter.. Wouldn't they just freeze up and not be able to move until spring? or would they migrate south? These are my thoughts on zombies..
vampires.. eh. not so much. :)
I guess.... but it depends on what stories you take your 'facts' from... and if just drinking blood makes you a vampire.. then.. i guess.. but i thought they lived forever and turned into bats.. that sounds realistic.

Ahahahaha. Sorry I don't know why I found this to be funny.

Yes they are supposed to live forever, but most of them don't turn into bats.

ok, they might as well turn into bats as live forever; its that realistic. and reanimated corpses is just as ridiculous a theory-although widespread viral contamination isnt...but, hey, its all fantasy and imagination gone wild! its adult pretend!...so basically im going to go over here and play with my romero and you can go over there and play with your dracula. the end hehe
agreed!

From the publisher:
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies features the original text of Jane Austen's beloved novel with all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie action. As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton—and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she's soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers—and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead. Complete with 20 illustrations in the style of C. E. Brock (the original illustrator of Pride and Prejudice), this insanely funny expanded edition will introduce Jane Austen's classic novel to new legions of fans.
