Am I too young?

I will turn 24 soon...am I too young for pin up modeling? should I wait until my 30's? I'm not sure I want to do this. I love how pin up photography looks and I'm sure it would be fun to do but I'm afraid I'm a bit too young to do it. I don't want to do anything racy, just something exotique...I've found one photographer who wanted to hire me so far but it did not work out...

Ok, from the perspective of someone who is a photographer who shoots a fair bit of pinup, you are not too young for pinup. However as others have pointed out, the fact you're not sure if you want to shoot pinup could be an issue. I would suggest that if you want to dip your toe in the water, don't do it with a photographer who wanted to hire you to shoot it. If a photographer is paying someone who has never done a pinup shoot to model for him, chances are either he is very inexperienced or he is not very good. Either way, I would not work with someone like that for your first shoot, esp if you're not 100% confident right now.

I would suggest that you contact other more experienced pinup models in your area, and see who they have shot with that is local. Ask them who is likely to be able to coach you with posing, expressions, etc, and also will shoot what you want, not what they want. Be prepared to pay for this - they are providing you with a service and you will usually get what you pay for, esp as an inexperienced model. When you speak with the photographer, make sure you are clear about your limits. Anyone who is good will respect them, esp with an inexperienced model.

Working with good people will mean that you are comfortable, you are in control of what you shoot and you should get good quality photos that will help you decide whether it's what you want to continue doing. And remember to have fun! That's what it's all about. Good luck.

For sure not. It is not a question of age, it is a question of life. If you feel to do that, do it! Simple like that. And 24 is an age, where you can decide by yourself. You are never to young for the good thinks in life.

If you're not sure then don't do it!!! Confidence is key in pinup!

My daughter is 17 and will be doing her first shoot in two weeks. My photographer has obliviously agreed to tone it down with my daughter nothing to "risky".  Just do your research and find a photographer that will work with what you are comfortable with.

i'm 21 and I don't feel as though i'm too young to pin up model. you don't have to do exotic style photography, its completely your choice, but to be exotic means to be a little racy....so I don't know it's really up to you.
