I am just curious for those of us with regular boring day jobs do you wear your hair all dolled up with victory rolls, and curls galore at work? I think if I did I would surely stick out! I love these hair styles and wish I had a personal stylist that could do it for me everyday ;)

I do victory rolls about 4 times a week. I work retail and that's how people know me around here. The old folk love it! Though I do my share of "lazy day" hair. I have Bettie bangs so either way I'm always rockin my pinup thang.

Well said Roxy! I live by those words :)

Wear what makes you feel the best. If your work has an issue with it they can bring it to you and you can ask what appropriate and whats not.

A couple of good quotes to remember, in life and in work, are "it's better to be over dressed then underdressed" and "dress for the life you want, not the life you have".

Normally, I wear mine down and curly. But at Darling Lingerie, when there's no time for a curling iron...or a shower, I have two choices; wig or a hat :-)

I certainly do wear my hair in rolls and bumper bangs and what have you. I figure I put more effort into my hair than most, so if  no one likes it, that's their problem, not mine. =)

What's so bad about sticking out? You're gorgeous just as you are. Do your thing and don't worry about whether or not it's too much for others to handle! The great thing about classic pinup is it's just that, classic. When I worked in an office, yeah, I stuck out and had people commenting on my hair/makeup/style all the time, but they also said how they wish they could do that, too, and unfortunately, that seeing me all dolled up made them feel bad about themselves. But that's part of the reason why I started Hot Rod Honeys. I had the belief (and still do!) that every woman can be a bombshell. It just takes time, talent and a little bit of treasure. I won't ever make myself look conventional just because someone tells me "You know, Annie, it's casual day. You can wear t-shirts and jeans." My casual is wearing flats instead of heels, possibly going stocking-less, or at the very most, wearing leggings. Hair and makeup are ALWAYS done. It's a lifestyle for me by my choice and no one else's. Always has been, always will be. Having such a strong conviction about fashion may seem silly to some, but I equate it to dumbing myself down in order to fit in (which is what I did in high school so boys would like me), or not working my ass off day and night just because it makes other people feel they're being lazy because they only have one job and choose to spend the remainder of their time at the bar. I feel my best when I look my best. And when I look my best, I know I can conquer the world. And I absolutely know you and all women have that power within yourselves, too. Btw, my hair is very long (down to my lower back) and pretty much all one length, so yes, getting ready everyday does take time, but I'm worth it! ; )

Hey ladie's,

1. I cannot style my own hair

2. I work at a Gas Station so dressing up is not an option

I have bangs that are growing out so I can have them repaired the way I had them before this as "Bettie Bangs" but here is an example of how I attempt to style my hair when I have extra time. I am a single mom so have mercy on me! Lol!

yes! i don't know how to do much beyond amateur pin curls and bobby pin play, but i ALWAYS get compliments for it and i think ppl even remember me because of it. never hurts to show the effort you put into your cuteness!

I wore my hair generally how I usually do. When my hair was shorter I would have a Marilyn wave but there would be times where I would have a faux bang and the rest in an up do. I think just do whatever you feel most comfortable with at work.

I curled my hair this morning for work, I have chin length blonde hair, so yeh, I curled it this morning, put a bit of mascara on and some dark pink lippy and I feel so good today! I just wish my skin wasn't so oily :( but anyway!! I've had great compliments all day so far and been likened to MM by three different colleagues! Thats possibly the best compliment for me to ever have as MM is my idol! ♥ x

I hear you on that! I'm super oily too. I got this moisturizer at sallys called beyond belief refresh and refine oil control and it really helps. Have you tried blotting sheets?

Hey Tabby!
Yeah I've tried pretty much everything :( I'm hoping my doctor will refer me to a dermatologist soon as it's really getting me down :( I just want nice skin but it seems like it's never going to happen!
