"We Are The New Vintage"
Hi all
My husband and I are flying over from Australia to Viva Las Vegas and I can't wait!! I just have a few questions if any of you could help me with any of the answers that would be fantastic!
* Is there stalls doing vintage hairstyles? (I'm still not overly confident with my pinup styles and thought it might be easier to pay someone to do my hair as long as it's not too expensive)
*Are there many opportunities to do photo shoots?
*Are you able to find out what tattoo artists will be at Viva and do you have to pre book?
* Is it going to be hard to get to and from the event if we stay at New York New York Casino?
*Does Pinup Lifestyle have a stall somewhere as I would love to meet some of you?
Thanks in advance if you can help me!

Hair: Yes, there may be stylists in vending, but not guaranteed. Check the website often to see if a vendor list is posted. If not, look in the Facebook Groups and PL postings for stylists offering their services independently.
Photoshoots: There will be many offering services outside of official VLV vending. Again - follow closely on social networking sites. If you have a photographer you REALLY want to work with, contact them now so you don't miss out. Schedule your hair styling just prior to your photoshoot so you get the most for your money.
Tattoos: Tattooing at VLV has recently been added. Are you staying in Vegas or the US for any amount of time after VLV? During VLV you will experience hot Vegas sun, late nights dancing, drinking, pool parties, possible exhaustion and dehydration. Not ideal conditions for getting and proper healing of a tattoo. It may be best to schedule a tattoo appointment after VLV.
Hotels: Nothing compares to staying in the host hotel and being able to stumble to your room by a simple elevator ride. If you stay off site, your taxi fares will add up. You can also rent a car. Or stay at a sister hotel to the Orleans with free shuttle services. Walking will not be an option. Trust me. If the Orleans is sold out, check social networking often for room cancellations, trades, roommate needs, etc. Lots of folks who have rooms reserved end up not going.
Have fun!!! xoxo Kitty
Oh thanks so much girls for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate it!! I think Miss Kitty you are probably right about the tattoo. I don't want to be worrying about dressing it etc while I'm at the festival.
The Orleans is booked out and I'm on a waiting list for the Gold Coast. Hopefully something will come up there as you mentioned the taxi fares if we are staying on the strip will add up.
Thanks again :)

Like the other ladies said, there are stalls doing hair, but we also have members who have or will be doing it as well. Shaina Doll is one who has already announced it, you can find her on facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/ShainaDollPage?fref=ts or here on PL http://www.pinuplifestyle.com/profile/ShainaDoll. You'll want to book early to make sure you can get everything done.
There are so many photo shoot opportunities it'll make your head spin! Keep watching this group because we let people post their castings here, and also watch the Castings page for posts. As it gets closer I'll start a thread listing all the PL photographers who will be shooting there.
Miss Kitty is right about the tattoos, the best way to do it is get it done the last day before you leave so you don't have to worry about it.
To get to and from the event you can take a cab, rent a car, or even find people that are staying at the same hotel as you and carpool. A lot of people share cabs to save on cost.
We don't have a stall, but we will be doing a couple of Meet Ups during the weekend so we can all say hi and hang out.
Can't wait to meet you, and if you have more questions feel free to ask.
Thank you so much Miss Roxy for your reply, I can't wait to meet you too! I've enquired about the Switchblade Betties photo shoot but I will keep watching this group to see if more pop up! Where I live in Australia there's no pinup/rockabilly scene at all so if I want to do a pinup shoot I have to travel for hours and then have all the various cost associated with getting there etc.
Thanks again
Shelley xx :)
Look up a Salon called Vintage Flair I've worked with her in the past and she is great and a true southern belle from Texas as well, see if she is going to be there. I know I usually book my own hair & MUA to work with me for the days of my shoots. Not sure if I am going to be able to make it because of a wedding conflict but I will be offering some various shoot packages starting at $100 if I do get to go!
Other than that, start following different photographers, they will begin to post packages soon seek out hair & MUA people as well, most of them would have a fan page if you do a search on FB
Lovely thanks so much for your reply I will look Vintage Flair up! The photo packages sound great, I've booked in one with Switchblade Betties already which I'm really looking forward to.
Thanks again :)
I'm not sure if it's okay for photographer to reply here but I'll be hosting photoshoots at my suite at Palms Place and mini car show sessions. You can look up my flyer on my Facebook page, search Hill Country Pin-Up. Thanks <3
You can make your own thread here in the group if you like. We allow Viva casting calls here.
