Newbie alert! Introduction and some help...

[Miss Bubblegum Glamour]

Hey dolls!

My name’s Ashlee and I’m a 20 year old chick from Down Under. I thought I’d write a little introduction (sorry it it’s a bit TL;DR) mixed in with a question! First of all, I’m still pretty new to all this. I LOVE everything about pinup, I only found out about it almost three years ago and I was absolutely amazed. I knew I had to be a part of it. I’m also searching for my own pinup name – for want of a better term. I can’t seem to land on anything that screams ‘ME!’ I love the idea of an alternate name to go behind, it’s all a bit glamorous and fun! I can’t tell you how much I love the words ‘Bubblegum Glamour’ together – the image they create in my head is just wonderful! I like Miss Bubblegum Glamour (see more about my future career aspirations below) but I wasn’t sure. Just wondering if I could ask for some help in that department? That being said, here’s a little bit about me J I’ve listed some things I like so you can get a better idea and perhaps come up with some suggestions. I appreciate any help!

Family names: My grandmother’s full maiden name is Carole Napier Meisenhelter and my great grandmother’s name is Valda Aylward

Nicknames: AJ, Ash Pash (My Mum and Step Dad use to call me this when I was younger for some reason!), Ash and Mashlee (My boyfriend’s name is Ben or ‘Bengers’… yeah, you get it haha)

Things I like: I’m a huge cat person and I often refer to myself as a kitty or use cat ‘mannerisms’ just because I love everything about them! For example: ‘I can’t wait to get my paws on that!’ or ‘Meow!’ or referring to people or myself as pussycats or kittens. I was a fan of the Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging series and loved how Dave referred to Georgia as Sex Kitty. I asked my boyfriend to call me that from then on! (He still doesn’t.)

I’m passionate about makeup. I’m currently studying to obtain my Cert II (For any of you Australians out there, I’m studying at the Academy of Makeup in Sydney). I plan to start working freelance and run a business called Bubblegum Glamour (I just love those names together so much, I can’t wait to use it for something!). I will be specialising in all things pinup, retro/vintage. I have a hairdressing friend who will be joining me to specialise in the same style hairstyling. Eventually I want to run a salon… one day! My ‘stage name’ if you will (not sure what to refer to it as!) was Vanity Vixxen for a while there because I loved the word vanity and tried to find a word that showed my love for makeup but I grew tired of ‘Vixxen’ as I just didn’t really feel it was me. I like to think I’m a little too sweet! The first name I ‘went under’ was Cherry. I had bright red hair at the time and was obsessed with the image of cherries. I also own a Chery (car)! I liked it but I really wanted to try and get a bit more of my personality into it somehow.

My sugary downfall is cheesecake, no doubt. I like that I’m a huge fan of cheesecake pinup as well and if I could find a way to tie that in with my name somehow, it would be fantastic. I also do love cupcakes – not only do they taste great, but they are just adorable! I love anything with a cupcake print.

I love music. When I was younger, up until the age of about 15, I absolutely refused to believe I would be anything other than a singer. I play/sing a bit of country music. I don’t play (guitar) that often anymore but I’m still passionate about singing and music as a whole.

That’s about first couple of things that come into my head, if I come up with anything about me that I think could be transpired into a name then I’ll be sure to mention it. I can’t wait to get to know you ladies!
