Outdoor locations for taking photos (for the amateur)

I am not a professional model, but I sure like to have my picture taken. I so love to document the looks that I am able to achieve. And as a result when I am looking my best I usually have my camera along. I am pretty successful in finding interesting locations to take photos. But I have been wondering if there are particular types of locations which are especially suited for taking pin up style photos. I live in the So Cal/LA area and if there are any particular places suited to our type of lifestyle I'd love to hear about them.

I know that places with old cars might be interesting. I have thought about old fashioned style soda fountains. Or maybe a retro style beauty salon would be good. 

Anyway I am all ears and am interested in all ideas.

Hi Aoife,

Griffith Park has great locations. There's the creepy old zoo, Fernglen (Marilym Monroe did this shoot there), Travel Town with the vintage trains, and don't forget about the Observatory. You could spend the entire day there and get alot of differnt shots.   Bob's Big Boy in Burbank has their classic car night on Friday.    )

Those are great suggestions. Since I am usually in more easterly parts of LA, I'd not thought about those places. I will definitely have to make some expeditions there.

I remember it well. I used to go to summer camp activities in Griffith Park when I was just a youngster. I think it is time for me to return.
