Ok I need your help. I currently have a lot of ink that is black grey and a splash of white. Im gonna start my sleeve soon and it has been suggested by friends that I should add color. Now this is where the brain starts tinkering...should I put some color in my sleeve or should I just keep it all black and grey? Would it look right if just my sleeve had color and not the rest of my tattoos? Please help Ms. Behaving XoXoXo

Thanks Hun i thought I clicked that.
It depends on the tattoo that you want if it would look nice in color or plain black.
Not that I am opposed to suggestions, but when it comes to tattoos, it should be a personal decision that shouldn't be based on anyone else's preferences. So ask yourself, what do YOU really think? This is going to be on YOUR body, so it should be what YOU really want. Good luck with your decision. :)
This is not about how it looks, it is about how you feel it.
I thought she was asking for opinions, of course she is going to go based on her decisions, but no matter what you decide to get you will always look gorgeous regardless x :D have fun picking and choosing.
I am on the same boat as you Ms.Behaving...majority of my work is Black/grey...I started my sleeve earlier this year and went color. and all I can say is DO IT!!! of course it depends on your taste...

I think you should add some colour, i'm also starting my sleeve soon and i've got all color now, but i'm going to add some black & white to, it helps to pop out the whole piece of art.

Hi there ! In my opinion I would add splashes of purple here and there ...maybe line parts of your tat with purple ! Just an idea sweetie . Have fun with it .
I personally love color in my tattoos, all of mine are very bright. But like I said, I personally love color. If you want to tinker with color you can start with the lines and shading and add it later if you want to or decide not to then add in the high/low lights instead. I also agree with Cherie too, add in one of your fav. colors or something that could translate throughout the whole of your arm piece. Have fun and post pics!

Think it has to do with the subject matter or the theme. Personally prefer color in detailed work to offset and make it pop, but i have seen some glorious sleeves done purely in black and white. This, I think, generally speaking, aesthetically, calls for broader lines and a lot more fill with black.

As a photographer, color is also nice because the difference it works in color vs b&w.

All a matter of choice and theme and personal preference.

Do you think the rest of your tattoos are going to be just black and grey ?  If so it might look good to add little touches of color here and there in your sleeve.  I personally love black and grey and probably won't ever get color- but thats just me, do what you feel will make you the happiest and I'm sure they'll look great !!
