No, I think that it is wonderful that you want motivation from your PL friends. That is a great idea...You GO GURL!!! i was actually thinking the same thing about starting a diet. I want to whittle my waist down. Maybe I will join you.
I was thinking about going on a diet too. I don't need to loose more than 2-3 kg, because I like having some curves.... it's just about having a healthier lifestyle.
But I've never been on a diet before, I've never been a very athletic person (I'm such a clutz that any sport can prove to be hazardous) and I love to eat, so I don't think I would be able to go through with it.
But I'm willing to give it a try and even if I don't succeed I'll be here for support, motivation and a pat on the back if you need any.
So here we go.
Things I'm willing to do
One hour of gym every day(minus weekends)
Give up red meet and fried foods.
Eat breakfast
Eat only one portion of sweet food per day.
Eat smaller portions
If I have time walk to where I have to go.
My current weight: 43 kg
Good luck!
eating smaller portions 5 times a day helps tremendously. gym is great for actually losing the weight and yoga (which I am a huuuuge believer in) will tone your body. you might want to consider bikram yoga for a bit to detoxify yourself. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bikram_Yoga
good luck on your journey!!!
Daniel
I'm actually gonna join in on this one!!
I'm going to cut the cr*p out my diet. Allow myself occasional bits of chocolate and such. Walk a hell of a lot more!! Start walking to the next bus stop on way to work and getting off the bus 2 or 3 stops earlier on the way home. Join the gym (eventually, in the next 4 months). Eat smaller portions and only when I'm hungry. Alcohol is out the window for the moment.
And as crazy as this sounds I've seen and heard a lot of good reviews on the green tea tablets. They speed up your metabolism apparently! Usually changing my diet and exercise doesn't make that much difference, so I will be able to notice!
And my starting weight : approx 238lbs or 107kg.
Ideally I would like to be 168lbs, but would be happy with 196lbs. so 42lbs to loose minimum.
I have the most to loose here I think, but hey ho, its about the support not the competition!
My man is around the same weight as me, he wants to loose about 28lbs so at least I have someone constantly watching me LOL

I dislike the word diet. I for the most part try to eat clean...in other words cut the processed stuff out and white flour, sugar ect. I do work out as well. And from time to time I check in with what I'm doing by doing a food diary but usually i know where my weakness is, chocolate milk. Although it is a great after workout recovery drink so I can reward myself a bit.
