So, I have my first photo shoot tomorrow. I have very light skin and notice that I look better in photos after a spray tan, but I've never done in-studio pinup shots before. To spray tan or not to spray tan? Please help me out, ladies!

Only if you want to look like a carrot :)
Just say no to orange skin. :-)
I model zebra thong male underwear and i use the spray lol heehe on a serious note it seems like the photographer would tell you if he wanted you tan at least id think so. Congrats on the photoshoot
Checked out your pics. You don't need a spray tan. You look great!
If you have someone spray you by hand, make sure you find out if they have a large nozzle..gives a more even coverage then the smaller ones. You also have Mystic Tan..get a level 2 for a medium or a 3 for a deeper tan..I'm a natural redhead with freckles and very..very fair skin. You will not turn orange...if you go to dark you may look a bit Native American. I have been doing this for years during the Spring/Summer when I go Blonde and they have upgraded the booths and esp. if you have someone do it for you (which I recommend) you won't be orange. Just make sure you either go to someone who has a good reputation or a Mystic Tan booth...if you were in Florida by me I could tell you who to go to a know you would love the results. Also to ensure you have a good exp w a booth..cause my first was hell..get a level 2..DO NOT WIPE OFF..as they tell you to do, it will streak..I would just fan  off, you will be sticky for a bit but even. Also I have noticed the best booths are the ones where you can rotate your body as it directs you to do so it seems to be less of a "wet" exp. The "Do it yourself" is personally a "Pain in the butt"..I love getting the spray tan on...looks good, and change is always fun. I say Go for it!!!

I'm a photographer and I'm in the "Don't Do It" crowd.  I've had girls come in with absolute disasters that caused me hours of retouching (per image!) to get them an even tan.  It's much easier to edit your natural color than to try to even out blotches and streak.

Even on the fairest skin, it's possible to develop a sheen in photoshop that looks like you're a well oiled-beauty.

......nevermind.
I have used spray tans before bikini competitions and before shoots before. Usually I only do one or two spray tans, and I make sure they are a few days before my shoot so the excess pigment will come off. It will make you look slimmer, your muscles and features more defined, without overdoing it. Honestly you won't look like an oompa loompa unless you do a bunch of spray tans all at once, i've never done more than a couple within a week. I also like them because they covered up flaws on my legs (stretch marks, cellulite, all that fun stuff) - but it depends on what lighting will be used in your shoot and whatnot. One spray tan really wouldn't hurt, it would give  you an even color and if you do it a few days before your shoot it should look fine.
I didn't mean to say "before" a million times in the first sentence, probably should have proofread that. Ha - sorry!
ii would have to agree with a spray tan, ii call this " SUN~KISSED "it's a great base coat for all your other products
a must have for your photo shoot FORE~SURE!!! !! !
ii need to add something to this. It is VERY important to have the right product because the product you use could complicate things for your photographer and his process and or under mind your intentions and your efforts. If your ever in need to be decorated or gemmed up LOOK ME up. Ro ~Me~ iiN
I love that you brought up the topics in your post..slimmer..defined..etc. Its really amazing the switch and how you feel if its done right. I love the slimming effect!! Thank you Sophie!! Nike said it best.."Just Do It"
