I've had the UGG Classic Cardy boots in black for over a year now, and I never had a problem with them until a month or so ago.
We basically had a torrential downpour of rain, and at my college I had to walk through about 6 inches of water in the flooded parking ramp to get to my car. I was wearing these boots and they got completely soaked.
When I got home I let them sit on my roofed porch for about 4 hours, but they were still damp when I needed to wear them, so I threw them in the dryer for about 10 minutes. Apparently that was a mistake.
Now the fur is all matted down and not soft at all, and they smell. TERRIBLY. I never had a problem with my feet sweating in them before they got soaking wet, either.
A lot of websites are telling me to pour a mixture baking soda and corn flour into them and let them sit overnight, then turn them upside down and shake all the powder out, but I really don't think that it will help. The fur is glued to the soles completely, I can't even feel it anymore.
These boots also aren't a style that has a removeable insole, so I can't just replace that.
I'm wondering if you ladies have any suggestions? Maybe I'll just buy replacement insoles and put them on top of the old ones since my boots are loose-fitting regardless, but they'll still smell horrible.
