Pinup Looks in Modern Pop Culture

Has anyone else caught a look at the video where Beyonce is made to look like a pinup- a'la Bettie Page?
It reminds me of Christina Aguilera's short-lived pinup image.

I know it p***** some people off when subcultures are picked up as a mainstream fad, but I just look at it as good things on clearance racks waiting to happen in the near future.

 

Anyone else find any good ones? Videos, pictures, anything mainstream that's inspired by the retro/pin up scene, post 'em up!

I know, I'm reviving and old thread. I was catching up on Fringe tonight and caught the Brown Betty episode and had to share how cool it is; this seemed the appropriate thread for it. This episode has little relevance to the show in general and is fun even if you haven't been watching the show. It a 40's detective noir, with a fun moderen twist (they have retro cell phones, for example,and I loved the singing corpses!).

Haven't seen it, would like to. I can't see the harm in subcultures becoming main stream. Those who were awesomely weird before will still be awesomely weird when mainstream moves onto something else.

I'm thinking the Beyonce video was "Why Don't You Love Me'?  Horrible song IMO but I love the costumes and wigs! Personally I like seeing pinup, even if it's into the main stream for a minute. If they got it they should flaunt it!

Hey Roxy... This the one you're looking for?  I'm not a fan of Beyonce, but I LOVE this video and all of her pinup looks and attitude.  It's good to see ethnic women sporting the look... even if it is mainstream.
