I am feeling overwhelmed with all the packing I need to do. I have made a list of all I need to bring, and where some of the clothes are (cleaners, alterations) and all I have to do! Plus I have to work Sat, Sun, and Tues, and am going to see Marti Brom Friday night and have tickets to Hank 3 on Sunday night. I leave at 5 AM Wednesday and also have to bring a bunch of Merch and Sax for a band that is playing Viva. Oh yeah, and also merch for Cockgrease. OK...maybe start with little steps first. Start with shoes, except those I'm wearing this weekend...it would be so much easier if I wasn't working and going out this weekend! Maybe start after I pick up the clothes from the cleaners? ACK! Oh yeah, I have to pack for my husband. Since he's flying in Friday and meeting me, he wants me to pack his suitcase for him and bring it in the car!

Anyone else feeling overwhelmed like me?

If you forget toiletries (and I know I will) there is a Rite Aid Pharmacy on the strip somewhere. I am about 75% packed but am un-packing tomorrow for fear that I forgot things, or maybe what I wanted to bring two weeks ago I may not want now. (Thankfully they're not easily wrinkled!) I had to cut back considerably on shoes. Had about 12 out and realized it wasn't feasable to bring that much for a 4 day weekend (although I am there for a week) I have a suitcase, and a carry-on. Found my hot roller set took up the most room, tried to find a smaller set, but there is either too few of rollers for all my hair or not as good as mine, so I shall deal. I'll pack my dresses last, and they will go in my carry on with my best shoes so I don't risk luggage being lost with all my cherished pieces. Wished I could drive, would make this a whole lot easier!! I am getting excited for this trip! Just hope I bring all I need, I think a list is a brilliant idea!! I too have to work, I am off tomorrow but am working straight through Tuesday and we leave Wednesday, so really tomorrow is my LAST chance to get it right!
It's less the packing than the things to do list, and the shopping list never ends. Times like these I wish I had a personal assistant.
I just discovered Chi Helmet Head! I love it!

KIM!! I can help you with the toiletry thing. I am the damned queen of forgetting that kind of stuff on trips and have found a method that works. The makeup remover is a great example of that "little" stuff that you normally never think about, and can be left out very easily when packing stuff from the bathroom. Viva '07 I believe, I forgot razors, shaving cream, and facewash......cause it was all in the shower out of my view, therefore it was left behind. My husband found razors and cream in the gift shop but no face wash......I used hotel soap and a wash cloth to scrub the crap off my face and it sucked!

Make a list! I use a notebook, go through the bathroom and write down every thing that I want to take, with a little box next to it to check off as I put it in the bag.
Shower stuff is always last but not least. Pack all the stuff from the shower that you plan on taking immediately after your last shower before you hit the road. I mean, right away......before you get dressed or towel off or anything. Wipe the stuff down so it's dry, secure all caps.....you know. If you wait till you get dressed trust me you'll forget it, especially with all the other stuff on your mind.

If there is anything that you do not use everyday that you'd like to take, pack that today! Then make a list for the rest of the stuff. I have already packed a crap load of hair stuff (like my CHI styling products, the small curling iron, bobby pins)......I do not use that stuff every day, or hardly ever for that matter, so it's been in my bag for a week.

Good luck!
SO true. I thought I had all my shopping done and I somehow keep forming new lists. Just went to Wal-Mart last week and spent $160 on stuff we needed and thought I was done.....yeah right! I am a makeup girl, so I keep coming up with new looks I want to do at Viva and find myself needing MORE makeup somehow.....I really thought I was done with that too but ideas keep popping into my head. Looks like I gotta head back to Ulta and Sephora one more time! Probably back to Wal-Mart too.....husband just alerted me he needs new jeans! He's really hard to fit in jeans and is picky too, gotta have length for the "cuffs" and be dark , dark blue.....haha! Love them greaser boys. Somehow the $9.98 Rustlers at Wal-Mart are the best pants we've found for him!!

picked up the dry cleaning...now making my husband try on clothes...he needs dress shoes for his Saturday night outfit. I want him to get some remix at Vegas, but I know he will resist that! Tempted to let him just be himself in jeans and t-shirts all weekend, but if I'm dressed up I want him to be dressed up too!
The Reverend Buttcheeks won't pack anything fancier than 501s and t-shirts, but I'm thrilled to have him on my arm no matter what he's wearing. As long as he puts pants on, I'll be happy! But Kim, if you wanted to ENCOURAGE him to bring something spiffy, I wouldn't stop you. ;)

Mine is willing, but is hard to fit. We've been to endless stores trying to fit him into vintage garb but no luck :( I at least have the satisfaction that he would if he could! Yeah it sucks I am wearing a killer dress, to the nines and he's Wal-Mart jeans and a button up, but hey.....

I am also the type that never fits in vintage and even if I find a piece that "works" it still has to be altered like a b****. So I can relate! He's just a very stocky boy and tall too, all the shirts we find are either made HUGE or tiny, same with pants.

One of these days I hope we can find something that fits him right! I would love for us to be that couple that everyone looks at and is like wow!!! they are dressed amazing!
I pulled up the remix site, he liked the 2 tone oxfords, and they are less than $150, so he's agreed! Remember, when you see him Saturday, tell him you like his coat, hehe...

Frank is really short, and has big biceps, so lots of times shirts are to tight in the arms, but I've had some luck working in the store.

Do they not have targets in Vegas? I read lots of redundant packing!
Yeah, but who wants to spend time at Target while on vacation in Vegas? ;)>

Yes, there is a target just down the street from the Orleans about a mile, I think!
