what is Las Vegas 13?

I've joined the group and now i'm curious. What's this about? I've never been to Vegas, but it looks like fun.

Its a rockabilly weekender put on every year in Vegas by Tom Ingram. It takes place in the Orleans hotel and casino in Las Vegas. Its the biggest rockabilly event in the world and gets thousands and thousands of visitors from all over the world. The main focus is rockabilly music, which is played live upstairs in the ballrooms on thurs, fri, sat and sun night, with record hops going until 6am. The headliners this year are Chuck Berry and Wanda Jackson, but 50 some bands are playing. There is also the biggest custom car show in the USA that takes place on sat afternoon. Bands and vendors will be at the car show also. There are vintage clothing and record vendors in the ballrooms upstairs. If burlesque is your thing, they have two shows and a contest over the weekend. They also have jive lessons, a 50's fashion show, and a tiki pool party. Wristbands are needed for the event and are on sale at www.vivalasvegas.net for $89. Its recommended that you book your hotel room and wristband early as they sell out early every year.

Me to Im really interested myself...I was asked by another friend about a month ago !! ive been to vegas about 4 time in the past...i haven't been in years, I hope to meet some friends on here to meet up with when i get there so i don't feel so alone lol !!! keep intouch girl...im saving my money now ;)

I've been to a few of these and always had a fantastic time. I would recommend attending Sweetpeas Hooch and Smooch, which is a Thursday pre-party kick off. Also, I'd recommend the Pool Party, the Bop Competition, and of course make sure you get your fill of boot drinks. I prefer to stay at the Orleans, (before they had it at the gold coast) but you have to book your room early. I would really like to make it out to the this. I'll post more later.
