Simple Gifts....

Okay, people.

It's almost V-Day. It's the day A LOT of men and ESPECIALLY women desperatly seek admiration and flattery from their loved one's through materialistic objects.

Sure it's fun to get presents and pretty things but...

WELL, for example......

I would MUCH rather spend a few moments in the embrace of someone who appreciates me than receive a dozen roses from one who takes me for granted. I would rather spend 5 seconds gazing into the face of someone who respects me than except a diamond ring from one who doesn't understand who I am. I'd take a walk in the park over a bottle of wine, a foot rub over a bottle of perfume, a hand written poem over a box of chocolates..... these are gifts from the heart - not from the wallet.

The BEST, most meaningful gifts I have received were those that came from a real passion and appreciation for me and all that I stand for. They were not expensive or extravagant but REAL in that they had a definite purpose behind them. These gifts required thought and consideration of my interests and dreams; my hopes and goals. They were completely unselfish and amazing in their own. The people who have given these gifts have become and remain the closest, most beloved friends, family and lovers in my life. (THANK YOU to ALL of you, by the way.... You know who you are!)

SO, this Valentine's Day, before you give to or expect something from that special someone.. or ANYone... please consider these thoughts:

I totally agree with this, as the best gifts do come from the heart...as I have given them to you, and you have given them to me. When there is love...real love and friendship...a $1 Skor bar and a silly handmade card is PERFECT. :) ...and yet another reason why I love you, bestie!
