Quite a compliment

I was at work Friday night, servicing folks with AUTHENTIC southern food and drink at the Cracker Barrel, when one of the other waitresses told me the people at her table would like to speak to me. It was an older couple, in their 60's maybe. The woman smiled at me and said "Your hair is very interesting!"

Tonight, I was wearing it in two victory rolls, side bangs; the rest down in curls, with a big black flower perched on the left side of it all. I smiled back and started to explain that it was supposed to look the part of the 1940's when she interrupted....

"I know! It's fantastic. You remind me of my favorite character in a series of murder mysteries I'm reading! Have you ever heard of them?" She proceeded to tell me about the books and I listened intently until she was through. She finished with "Anyway, you wouldn't know it now but I was a fashion designer and I know style when I see it. You've got it, so make sure you put it to use!"

I was flattered out of my mind. I talked to her a little about PL and my plans to give pin-up modeling a try and she rooted me on like an old friend.

"Well, you've got the personality and the confidence, Honey!" she said. "You just keep at it and I can tell, you'll go far!"

As they got up to leave. I thanked them kindly over and over again and wished them well. Needless to say, I was grinning from ear to ear for the rest of the night. Who cares if she was right? It was quite a compliment and I appreciated it.

( A few hours later, another older couple COMPLAINED to their waitress saying I was "very distracting" because it looked as though I had "a gigantic spider sitting on the side of my head". BWAHAHAHAHA! Funny how people's perceptions can be so different! OH, and the books that the she was referring to are the series by Ellen Byerraum, the first being 'KiIller Hair'. I think I'm going to start reading them!)

I LOVE Cracker Barrel, i LOOOOOOVE CRACKER BARREL BREAKFAST. And now that I'm on the west coast I miss it soooo much. Thats a great compliment to have Sid =)
