Are they jealous or just plain nuts?

I want to start this off by saying that I, in no way, think that I am God's gift to the world. I don't walk around with a "holier than thou" attitude and I try to be nice to everyone. I don't think that I am the hottest woman since Marilyn Monroe and I generally have a kind demeanor towards anyone I meet. With that being said, what is with girls being jealous of other girls and just tearing them down?

I have noticed that since I have started modeling, I have met some of the cattiest girls ever to walk the earth. I am emailed on myspace at least once a week by a random girl (who doesn't know me and who isn't even on my friends list- my page is set to private) telling me how ugly I am and that I will never make it as a model. I've been called a "throwback" and "out of date" and not "relevant" because my look favors that of a generation past. I've been told on more than one occasion, by people I don't know and who don't know me, that I am a b****. What gives? What possesses other girls to be so cruel to a member of the same sex?

Tonight, someone made a status update on facebook about me that stated that I should get a "real" job and stop "living in the 40's". This comment came from out of the blue by someone I have met 5 times (tops).

Has anyone else experienced anything like this or am I the only lucky one?

I would take being called a throwback as a compliment... it means I'm getting my look just about where I want it! You'd rather walk around with "JUICY" written across yer ass? Yeah, that was a fekkin' BRILLIANT fashion statement.

It amazes me sometimes how cruel women can be. This industry is really hard to be in, and sadly...we have all been through this, or will go through it sometime in our career. Try and remember that they only say those things about you....because there is something about you they wish they had. You are a beautiful girl...inside and out, they people who really do matter know that already....F*** everyone else. :) Whatever you do, keep being you....cause you is beautiful!

I deal with this all the time, mainly more in "real life" and less in "modeling life". Girls are taught from a young age to be judgmental of other girls, mainly based on looks and assumption of sexual behavior. it is awful that so many girls do this. i have someone actively trying to get me fired right now because she thinks i'm too pretty to have the brains to do my job. i also had someone else say that i'm too pretty to be nice.

Sometimes it's amazing how much time some women waste hating on other ladies! I know a lot of people who also don't understand my passion for vintage & a throwback lifestyle. You just have to laugh at how ignorant & cruel some people can be. Rise above it, shake it off & move on :-)
