Hello everyone. I started this discussion for two reasons:
1. so you know I have a fitness blog since i am taking the time to write it :)
2. so you can suggest topics

Please suggest topics here that you may like to see covered or issues that concern you and I will provide an answer for you in my blog. I am going to shoot for about 3 postings a week.

this discussion forum won't take the place of the blog, it is to introduce you to it and provide you a place to see what is coming up or offer your suggestions for future postings.

Remember that fitness is about being healthy, not just losing weight. The better you take care of yourself now, the better your body will take care of you later :)

I actually have a question that's purely an aesthetic problem.
Double chins and neck fat. YES. it's so weird. every time i think i'm losing weight i notice my neck is still blubbery. my fairly thin friend has the same problem. we died laughing over all fo the silly ways we thought of lifting weights with our neck. but is there seriously anything short of scary plastic surgery to fix this?
I replied on your page

When you lose LOTS of weight you'll lose it in all the right places. Sounds to me you need to do lots of cardio to burn that extra fat. I jump on a mini trampoline to get my heart rate up. I treally works!

this is true that it won't just spot reduce. you will lose weight all over. however, some people do have a bone structure that gives a less prominent jaw

oooh, ok i has one. you know, looking at old movies and pics i've noticed that their bodies dont look like our bodies. the ribs seemed more prominant and they allways had nice waists. no six packs or ripped arms, but healthy slender bodies with lots of shape. i wonder what kinds of exersizes they did to keep their curves while being tone and slender. I want to be more toned but i dont want to loose my coke bottle figure! hee.
i will get back to you on that, that is something I noticed myself. A lot of it has to do with nutrition though, they had a lower body fat percentage overall to start with.

You will all be happy to know that Marissas fantastic fitness blog is easily accessible under the "Features" tab at the top of the site. Keep up the fantastic initiative Marissa!
Wasn't this partly also due to an entire different fashion? I mean it wouldn't have as much an effect on a person as diet, but the average lady doesnt wear girdles or corsets to shape their torso in th wasp-like kinda way...on a different note, ive heard that eating 5 or 6 small meals throughout the day is better than eating 3 large meals since your metabolism is always working to process the foods in the small meals whereas with a 3 large meal diet, carbs, fats, sugars can end up sitting in your stomach for a longer period of time and will end up getting stored instead of immediately used for energy.
